Cyclic Redundancy Check ??

I was copying a folder of pictures from a DVD to my laptop. Then it stopped and a message popped up - Error : Cyclic Redundancy Check.

Anyone knows what that means? How should i solve it?
Are those pictures in my DVD damaged forever?????
