Mini Milestones : Jasmine's 6th month

We celebrated Chinese New Year in Alor Setar. It was Jasmine's first time flying! We took firefly.

She behaved really well in the plane to Alor Setar. Not only didn't cry, she smiled more. I breastfed during take off and landing to avoid the ear pressure.

This is her place for naps in Alor Setar. The sarong belonged to Joshua's late grandmother.

And then she met Winnie the dog, strangely the dog was intimidated by her.

We encouraged her to flip or roll over but it didn't happen yet...

My mummy, kor kor and Anne's reunion dinner ended with fireworks. I miss my cute mummy!!

They had steamboat with my brother's in-laws.

Anyway, in Alor Setar, Jasmine bathed in the bathtub that Joshua bathed in when he was a baby. And because this bathtub didn't have the anti slip surface that Ikea bathtub had, Jasmine was floating freely in the tub and she loved it!

She finally discovered the fun of kicking in water, she kept on kicking and stretching her legs to the side of the bath tubs.

Needless to say, Jasmine had first class service of being carried all day long in the house. ;)

On 1st day of CNY, Jasmine and I wore similar top. Peach blouse with white polka dots. It was pure coincidence that my mum bought this top that had similar design to this blouse that I had. :) 

We, the family of 3 stayed in the room Joshua & his brother Daniel used to stay in. 

There are 2 single beds and an old baby cot.

She slept through the noisy fireworks! Amazing...

But she got up at 4am or 5am and refused to sleep.... I had to put her on my bed and breastfeed till she doze off.... and took up half of my space.

I left her sleeping here while we go down to have breakfast. I miss seeing her sleep on her back. :)

Joshua met up with his old friends. The guy in white in the middle is his neighbour, staying literally opposite Joshua's house but is moving in few months' time.

They loved Jasmine too. :)

Then we attended church service. We were a little disappointed with the amount of ang pows our cute Jasmine received. -_- Oh well....

On the plane back to Subang Jasmine was very cranky due to insufficient sleep since morning, she cried very loud in the plane just before taking off. Joshua had to rock her to sleep under pressure. He asked for special permission to stand at the back when everyone else were required to put on the safety belt. Thank God she fell asleep and I quickly latched her on. Phew!

We also went back to Muar for Chinese New Year where Pei Xuan visited again with her baby Emanuel. 

Family portrait again. :) So glad Evelyn was able to join us this time. Jasmine's facial expression here is so funny! Can't wait to print this out.

We also managed to take some photos of her while she was doing her tummy time in an extremely good mood. :)

To get these smiling happy baby shots, there were people who sacrificed! Look at the behind-the-scenes that Anne captured. My brother must be trying to act like a monkey...

And this is one of the very very rare moments I see my mum smile so broadly! :D

This is what babies do to adults, haha.

Anne and I did a bit of wrestling when Jasmine takes a break.. hehe..

And then back to photoshoot. On the historical rocking chair. My grandma used to carry me like this for a photo when I was an infant. :)

Now is my daughter with her grandma. :) :)

This trip, we talked about bringing the playpen (borrowed from Salby our church friend to put at baby sitter's house) back to Muar. Then mummy told us off that it is not necessary because she had an idea to convert this little single bed into a giant baby cot.

She took so so much time (almost one whole day) and energy to clean this place up and decorated for Jasmine!! Look at those softtoys arranged nicely on top.

My favourite from young will go to the hippo in sunglasses and panty. :D

And this little Hush Puppies was a gift from Joshua to me while we were dating.

Diaper changing table. My mum said all those animal soft toys are overseeing her. Haha.

Opposite wall are filled with my things. All my system were messed up!! It took me few hours to get my things back into place again. -_-

Morning while she was still asleep, my mummy took her to the back garden, until she woke up.

Jasmine also knows how to grab an ang pow.

When my mum get her to play with the angpow by holding with her feet, due to the dampness it got stuck to her feet.

She herself was amazed at it.

At night, we went out for dinner with my mum's client, and she fell asleep when Aunty Chee carried her. Soooo chubby...

And we put her on baby cot, she slept like a big boss. So "Big Boss" also became her nickname.

At home, my mum taught her to play with tap water.

And knock my water tumbler like playing drum. Haha. Creative grandma!

We shifted Jasmine's changing station from the counter to the floor. This is the safest we could think off. 

As she gets more active and kicks harder, changing her or leaving her on this big mattress really gives us the peace of mind. Look at how far she has "travelled" from the centre of the mattress? 

 Joshua left her here while he takes his morning shower for just 10 minutes.

Jade and Daniel gave us an old car seat! Her cousin gave 2 to her and she only needed one so I definitely said yes to that offer. It's local brand Sweet Cherry. Still seem a bit big for Jasmine but once she outgrow the carrier in Myvi, we can transition her to this one. Yeay!

 When we went to Subang Parade to buy some stuffs, we put her in this baby carrier and totally love it. Doing groceries shopping at Carefour was the most enjoyable when we carry her in this too! :D

 And this baby fell asleep twice when we were having dinner at restaurant. It must've been the noise, the people walking about.... that made her drowsy. Zzzzz.......

Jasmine discovered her ears and started pulling them. At first she only pull her right ear, later on she discovered the left. Sometimes due to her finger nails and pulling too hard, she bruised herself. She had obviously gained more strength this month. -_- She likes to do it especially when breastfeeding, sometimes I wish I had a third hand just focused on stopping the pulling!

She had a bit of running nose due to air con in her room. The weather has been very hot and she sweats a lot. At night when we rock her to sleep her hair at the back of her head will be wet so we will switch on the air con to cool down the room, little did we know it was too cold for her little body. Mummy daddy take note please...

We started putting her to sleep on her tummy since beginning of the month and it quickly became her favourite sleeping position. If we ever put her on her back to sleep, she either cry or wake up very quickly. I really miss seeing her sleeping on her back with both hands and legs wide open.... and observe her double chin etc... I didn't know that could be a phase as well!

One night after I brought her back from baby sitter's, she was so sleepy I put her down on her back to sleep, she suddenly turn to her left and fell asleep.... then we had dinner at dining table, half way through dinner I got a shock - how come I can't see Jasmine anymore from where I sit?
And we found her in this position. In her sleep she had managed to flip to sleep on her tummy.

This is the first time... although with the help of gravity because she was lying on a cushion, but we were confident that she will learn to roll over on her own very soon!

Jasmine has square eyes. One day after a long day out, we put her to sleep when we got home. She looked like she was in deep sleep....

Then we switched on the tv, quietly.. she got up and....

was watching tv... -_-  I am more determined to turn her into a book worm instead of a potato couch!

But we can't deny that at desperate times, we switch on the tv just so she can calm down....

So this month, her pattern is she will be up at odd hours like 4am, 5am or 6am.. and refuse to go back to sleep. I will put her on our bed and try to sleep despite her making lots of complaining noise. After being ignored, she will start to kick.. and kick and kick.. and you can see she has made a 45 degrees turn... and her kicks are solid and consistent. -_- Jasmine.......... mummy need to sleep, you know....

And here she had managed to make an eighty degree turn.

Due to the sleeping on tummy position, we found her struggling after waking up and eventually managed to crawl forward!

There was twice I found her crawled to the lower part of the baby cot but didn't take a picture because she was crying already. The way she crawled was described as caterpillar by Joshua's mum. She lifts up her bum and used her legs to move her whole body forward. I didn't witness how she crawled backward though....

One day when I reached at baby sitter Lian's house, she was going to bath Jasmine. She doesn't have a fixed routine whether she will bath her or wipe her clean before I take her home, so this time I was surprise she was going to bath her. I was even more surprise to see how she bath Jasmine!

This is bathing the Indian way... apparently... and take not the water is room temperature water... I feel so cold! But Jasmine looks fine.

We tried putting her to sit on sofa on her own with pillow supports on left & right. 

In my mum's exact words, Jasmine is progressing beautifully... yes including chewing on every toy.

I tried to clean her toys one more time over one weekend so that it's more "bacteria free".

   

She sucks on everything near her mouth and to the extent she left tiny love bites on my shoulder and arm.
Lately we also noticed more hair on her head. I knew those new hair will grow! 

On the 6th Feb we took her to the Klinik Kesihatan for vaccination. She weighed about 6.5kg. 

22nd Feb we took her for pneumoccocal jab at the SS15 clinic. She weighed 6.7kg. We have been going to this clinic for few times and decided that we don't like the doctor. Few incidents indicated that he doesn't prescribe the right medicine and doesn't give professional consultations. Anyway, we thought it's convenient to go just for the jabs. But this time... I found out another thing, his charges are SO EXPENSIVE!! I regret for not doing more research on prices. He charges RM300 for each pneumoccocal jab!! I found out from Acts mummies whatsapp chat group that in USJ the charges is only RM240!!! So angry!! Angry at myself! :( 

One of the most lovely thing Jasmine picked up this month was sticking out tongue. She does that very often this month while smiling and is just the sweetest. :)

We were in church on combined service Sunday, and during sermon Joshua was sitting with us. Jasmine was so bored and playful... we played the planking game with her. She paused for a while to stare at the new view i.e. carpet and my legs. Haha.

Jasmine continues to have her special bonding time with daddy every morning....

Joshua introduced her to bread and she loves chewing on the plastic. 

Some days when I have late work meetings and I can't pick Jasmine up, Joshua had to help out. And one time he sent me this photo. It was mixed feelings.

I was happy that she's back home with daddy, but I was sad I was not there to bring her home.
The daily arrangement is daddy will get her ready in morning and send her to Lian.
So daddy and Jasmine will send mummy off to work...

Then evening mummy will bring her home and take care of her till daddy comes home... but mummy sometimes failed to do her part. Sorry Jasmine, mummy will try harder next month ok! :)

Though sometimes, I brought back a very unhappy baby in the evening. -_- I do felt that it's unfair Joshua deals with a happy baby in the morning and when it's my turn she's all cranky and moody....

The clue is, she is a morning baby. You want to get any photos taken or get her interested in any toys or books or get anything done by leaving her on her own, do it in the morning.
