San Francisco Day 1 : Arrival

We are flying off on 23rd October afternoon 2pm.

22nd October is a public holiday Deepavali. We spent the whole day packing.
Actually not really, just relax and then packing at night.
Jasmine tried to unpack for us.

Here we are at the airport. All our bags for check ins and hand carries.
We had lunch at the premier lounge. Duai Ee and myself had free entrance due to our credit cards. I had to use 4000 miles to bring mummy and Joshua in. The food? So so only...

First flight to Taipei (transit). This is 4 hours flight. Jasmine was great on the plane. I fed her milk during take off and she slept straight away. We put her into the bassinet and she slept for almost 2 hours.
When she woke up, we were having our meals. She didn't cry or ask for milk. Just sat there observing everything. She was sweating because I put too many layers of blanket for her. The air stewardess gave her a toy which later on went missing because she threw it out.
Just as the air stewardess was to serve Joshua his bun, Jasmine poked her little fingers into the hot bun. We fed her and she loved it! To the extent she fed Joshua back the bun. Haha.

We took turns to babysit her. She is not into the airplane tv but the nursery themes video on ipad works all the time! Especially during landing, we had to keep her calm, either the ipad or her favourite baby bites are the immediate solutions. Hehe.
Arrived at Taipei. We found this place to rest and tire Jasmine out.

We have 3 hours to kill. So Jasmine crawled and played here for an hour before we went to the nearby food court for food.

There were limited children books, and mostly for bigger kids.
We fed her her dinner here too. All from instant fruit pot and if we have warm water we try to mix it with some brown rice cereal. Not yummy... seriously..
She gets cranky sometimes mainly we believe is the change of routine.
My first attempt for this little lady's autumn wear. Hehe...

The cute beannie was from Muar (grandma bought), pink cardi was from Carters (grandma bought and paid same amount for shipping!!), pinafore dress from US thrift store (Anne bought during the trip before Jasmine was born), white onesie from H&M Malaysia, tights were passed down from Emily (one of the mothers at our babysitter's), shoes from FOS Malacca.

She still prefers to crawl... it's hard to tell her the floor is dirty... -_-
This shoes is too big for her and always fall out.

Just before we board, there's a boy from hong kong here plays hide and seek with her. It's great in exhausting her last battery.
Because as we line up to board, she was already snoozing on Joshua's chest. Haha..
But she still drinks milk in her sleep when we take off. Perfect baby. ;)

The 12 hours flight was a total black out. Haha. They switched off the lights most of the time. So Jasmine actually slept through most of it, woke up for milk twice or 3 times? Again during her awake hours are messing up magazines and manuals in front of our seats, standing on our seats, watching ipad nursery rhymes, eating baby bites and drinking milk.

After the 12 hours of flight and total 20 hours of travelling. Here we are!
At San Francisco SFO airport!
Uncle Charles and Aunty Maria came in 2 cars so that all of us and our luggages can fit it.
Here we are in their house at 17th Avenue. The last I was here, was 6 years ago!

I took out Jasmine's books. She was laughing at the kangaroo in the book. :D
Getting snuggly...
Aunty Maria prepared dinner!! It was 9pm plus.. and we are not even sure whether this should be our breakfast or lunch or dinner or supper.
But the food was great. Although we are not hungry because of those in-flight meals. :) Did you see sushi and bimbimbap? All home made!!

And Jasmine is wearing a handmade knitted cardigan here. :D Made with love by Aunty Maria!

We went to bed at almost midnight.... Jasmine woke up at 3am... and only went back to sleep again at 5am plus... -_-  We should've read up about how to counter the baby jetlag!! We read about getting them to behave well in the plane but miss out the more important problem here. Haha.
