On 2nd September, Jasper stood all by himself at upper landing, next to our closed bookshelf.
Midnight, when he gets up, he usually sits and cries till I come. This month, I found him standing in the cot few times. It does help getting the crying across to my room faster, hehe.
The next day, I spotted him crawling on his 4 limbs. He crawled up the upper landing steps to reach the pig peppa pig ball. Talk about motivation. :D And after that he continued more confidently on flat ground. Prior to this, he had already done the crawling on 4s but not this much.
His achievements are very different from Jasmine's and other kids. Because I keep hearing my colleague said he kids all learn to sit, then crawl. But Jasper started out crawling on his tummy first, then only sit. And then he learnt how to stand before he did the crawling on his 4s. And when he's on his 4s, he achieved the crawling up the steps before he could do it more confidently on the flat ground. Haha. Jasper Jasper.
On 2nd & 3rd September, we kept him on our bed because he kept getting up. He actually feels much more comfortable drinking milk sitting on my lap, so when I feed I still has to get up. But once he's full he will soothe himself to sleep between us. He gets up at least 5 times! After that we did found him cry a lot and was quite grumphy, most likely because he did not have enough sleep. -_-
5th September, it's Jasmine's 3rd birthday...
and what did he do to Jasmine? She was playing with the pink box and inside there were a few old bracelets that I've given to her... Jasper really wanted to play with it too (he does that to everything that Jasmine has her hands on).... so he tried to grab from her, while she resist, end up the bracelet broke. -_- It's not something precious but we were definitely wow-ed at his persistence, determination and strength.
That night, he was so playful & hyper that he didn't sleep from 1.30am till 3.30am. We did all we could, rocking (who are we kidding this kid never likes being rocked), ignoring, sleep music, feed milk, pacifier, none worked. I got really really fed up, that I took him down to the living room, put him in the playpen. He still doesn't sleep. I switched on Astro cartoon channel, and saw him watched... till he fell asleep. Thank God.... @.@
For 2 days on the way back from Lian, I played on repeat happy birthday song. Mainly to let Jasmine know it's her birthday. :D Jasper loves the minion birthday song so much he was giggling in his car seat. :)
6th September, Anne and I were at home. I left him with Anne in living room while I go into kitchen to boil water. Suddenly, I found him crawling army into the kitchen! He was so fast!! We were both shocked at his speed, he had to overcome the distance and the upper landing steps! Impressive!
9th September, homes night. We were caught in a very bad jam. I took numerous random turns just to avoid getting into Kesas but the jam was inevitable! Had to change plan, instead of going home first, we go straight to Homes. And we only arrive past 7.30pm.
He was hungry and cried so much in the car throughout the journey. I couldn't do anything at all. :(
He is always going after what Jasmine is doing, no matter what interesting toys I provided him with. Eg. Jasmine bath time, Jasmine brushing teeth, Jasmine playing big girl toys (that has small parts).. often we have to carry him away to avoid him putting unsafe items into his mouth, or getting himself wet.... he was not happy but we have no other choices. :( Jasmine gets pretty annoyed with him too.
More than once he had crawled into the bathroom, both in masterroom and the sharing one. Jasmine had never crawled into the bathroom if my memory serves me right.
This was him getting to know the guitar when Joshua's playing a song for Jasmine.
He loves crawling under the dining table. And stand under it. We joked that he will stop doing this once he grows taller.
See how he's so interested in Jasmine's water bottle etc?
And I still wasn't sure whether to let him into the pool.
And then I think the big kids are a bit too near him... esp. Lisa who is quite rough. So I switched him over to the big pool, where he tried crawling and water level was too high causing him to drank mouthful of water.
So I quickly took him out. Sorry boy! Inexperienced pool mama.
He was generally well behave throughout.
After everyone went home. Everyone settled for a good long nap.
So now you know Jasper crawls much faster, on 12th September, he started chasing after Jasmine and found it entertaining. :D It's more entertaining to watch the 3 year old and the 9 months old giggling in the living room.
He is growing more teeth. We found out from hearing him grinding his teeth... and after inspection, yep 3rd and 4th teeth on upper gum. On 13th September, I inspected his teeth again.. realised it's not the centre 2 teeth growing, it's 1 centre and 1 more on the side. Looks weird, I was shocked and thought at first that he has CROOKED teeth??? Oh no!!!! I quickly googled, and found out that some babies have their lateral teeth growing first, before the central teeth. And some really look like dracula for a while. Phew. So Jasper is growing 1 central and 1 lateral teeth. I joked to Joshua, its going to be Halloween in another month's time, so he will fit in without much cosmetic.
Trust that because he's growing new teeth, he has bitten on the wooden cot bars at Lian's. I saw a lot of teeth marks on the wood one day and so I passed to Lian the plastic cot covers that we bought at Mothercare.
And... I realised he does the same to the cot at home too. No wonder sometimes leaving him in the cot was very ok. He was quiet for a good reason!
One night as I was putting Jasper down to drink milk on my lap, found him adjusted himself into the common position. :) That's his favourite position. But normal nights, he won't sit down so easily to drink milk, because he wants to crawl around the room. He still does 90% the army crawls. Once I carried him on my lap, he refused to drink and only wanted to get down on the ground, so he dived downward! If I didn't have a firm grip of him, he would've fallen on the ground, head first! Jasper... -_-
Here he is wearing socks, we applied vicks on his sole and cover with socks hoping it will help with his running nose.
Diaper changing always a challenge and still is a challenge. He always wants to either turn & crawl away or touch his own kukubird,
Jasper's doing this very frequent : from standing, he will grow tired and then just threw his whole body down to sitting posture.
His newest and cutest trick is bouncing on his bum bum when he's sitting on the floor. It's so funny and he's doing it higher and higher... Regret to say I find it hard to video it down! Everytime I got my phone in record, he doesn't do it. -_- He does it when he's excited.... bounce bounce bounce then launch out into his army crawls. :)
We are trying to teach him to ma ma, ma ma... he will occassionally do some "mam mam mam" but not all the time. And our effort is teaching him that often gets echoed by Jasmine. Haha.
Followed me for hair cut. I couldn't put him down for a nap! Fed him, gave pacifier... and in the end...
It was Ah Yi who put him to sleep. -_-
One Saturday I left him in the playpen and could hide on this sofa... and saw him doze off himself. I had it video-ed down. :D
We started him on playground and put him on more rides. Like this new bouncing rides. It's new & clean.
This one here is the old one.
Meal times at home.
Weekday mornings, most mornings he still asleep when Joshua take him down to the car. Rare mornings he's up and happy.
When he does this stretch, you know he wants to go down....
Recently he likes to scream, and when he started, Jasmine will follow. Or vice versa. And he is at this throwing stage, he throws every toy I give him esp when sitting on the high chair. And then look down to find where it landed. Pacifier also same, throwwwwww.... @.@ Eating out is getting harder these days because he wants to be entertained. I will not carry him because I want to have my meal.. so we give him tons of stuffs to play with. He throws each item almost instantly to the ground and it does get frustrating for us.
In church, when he gets restless, Joshua often take him here to crawl. This floor does look less dirty compared to carpet surface but I still won't like it. Imagine him doing his army crawls here? Anyway...crawling in church is inevitable. Here is Zyon the famous baby who is 3 weeks younger.
People already crawl on 4s.
Normal sundays in church, Jasper in stroller, Jasmine helps to push.
We got our Sunway Lagoon annual passes and yes we've taken Jasper to it too! He may not understand what's going on but isn't he so privileged to be exposed to outdoor so frequent at such young age? I do believe all these experiences plays a part in character building. :) I really want my boy to be a cool guy, a kind hearted guy, brave and adventurous yet sensible and responsible. :)
Although he doesn't do much... but give him few more months he will look forward to Lagoon outings. :)
Double stroller is not Joshua's favourite...
Lian told me one afternoon Jasper was sleeping while astro kids channel was on. Then there's a kids birthday song, that woke Jasper up from his sleep, he held on to the cot bar and started dancing to the song. Lian walked back into the kitchen for a while. The song ended. Lian came out.. and was surprise that Jasper went back to sleep again. Haha!
I look forward to see their happy faces welcoming me every evening, despite feeling guilty not arriving earlier. It's an everyday struggle I go through.... and here both kids wanted to sit on my lap! :D
(this was taken by Joshua right before we visit 3 kindys and LL to find a "school" for Jasmine to attend next year.)
24th September, went for vaccination. He was 8.82kg. Last weight was 8.6kg so means he didn't put on much weight.
We thought sometimes to avoid him crawling around too much, we can just put him in the bumbo seat... but that is not true. He can climb out of it easily. So I am planning to sell it.
Joshua likes to say, this is a mummy's boy. :) I am like Yes and No.
Yes please be manja with mummy because that's my privilege as a mama. :) Waking up a handful of times each night should pay of right.
And very often, Joshua say he was completely fine on his own, just before I appear. -_-
I am not a fan of my sunday outfit though, can't believe these days I could just put on anything to church. I used to plan wayyy ahead! Guess that's how babies take over our lives!
Still, I count myself blessed. :)

And he also showed us how he so effortlessly stood up holding on to the sofa, to reach for the astro remote controller. He took it not because he wants to watch cartoon, but he wants to chew on it.

Following jeje at the living room..
Bedroom.. interested with her milk bottle and can attempt diving across the books.
10th September, Jasmine's birthday pool party. They both woke up early at 8am plus.
Finally did at around 10.30am... its his first time in a pool.
But only lasted a while. He started off in this simple pool.
Just doing his through, chewing away.
And got fed his special baby food.
After everyone went home. Everyone settled for a good long nap.

I quickly took out the bar cover I did for Jasmine. He still chews on it but not really happy with it.
I didn't cover the back row because it was needed to use at Lian's place. Mothercare's one was only sufficient for the sides and so this front bar had to be covered. We left both cots back bar uncovered, hoping he won't chew on the bar that's against the wall...
Evidence that he still tried... -_-
That goes without saying, that he of course chews on pretty much everything he can land his hand or mouth on.
Here he is wearing socks, we applied vicks on his sole and cover with socks hoping it will help with his running nose.
His newest and cutest trick is bouncing on his bum bum when he's sitting on the floor. It's so funny and he's doing it higher and higher... Regret to say I find it hard to video it down! He is slowly catching up on height. :)
Sweaty head after waking up from nap. His nap location in living room sometimes doesn't get enough fan coverage.
Here's how we put them to nap on weekends. I finally switched the 1 seater and the playpen in the living room. Jasper doesn't go in there unless he's taking his nap. That's like twice in 7 days.We started him on playground and put him on more rides. Like this new bouncing rides. It's new & clean.
This one here is the old one.

Another trick is to feed him baby bites, but it's expensive food and we risk it ended on the floor too. -_-
This guy likes to eat fruits. He nibbles on almost every type and will ask for more.
Soon the total amount of fruits he digested will outweigh Jasmine's.People already crawl on 4s.
I will follow Jasmine into Acts Kids while Joshua put Jasper down for nap, usually by 2nd song. :)
Double stroller is not Joshua's favourite...
Here's me trying to hold him up for a picture near where the panthers are. I was not feeling well so I decided to stay down here... and attempted this difficult task with Anne as my photographer.
Turns out my arm muscles are not strong enough to keep a 9kg baby in place long enough for a decent shot. Oh dear muscles.
21st September, I witnessed him crawl down the upper landing step on his tummy. I rushed over in time to grab him when he stopped in the middle step. Thank God he didn't continue to slide down, he would've hit his face or chin on the ground. Thank God he didn't tumble over too.Lian told me one afternoon Jasper was sleeping while astro kids channel was on. Then there's a kids birthday song, that woke Jasper up from his sleep, he held on to the cot bar and started dancing to the song. Lian walked back into the kitchen for a while. The song ended. Every morning I will find it hard to leave and often leave at 8.30am after cuddling with both. ;) and a lot of times, you get Jasmine wanting to sayang didi, and get frustrated when Jasper tries to turn & crawl away.
Almost everytime we reach home, before Joshua's back. I carried him first, put him down on the playmat, he will cry. But I had to go and take Jasmine out from the car seat, or take my bags from the car. After that rush to get dinner ready for Jasmine.. and sometimes even had to blend his porridge. I know he just needed to be carried... sorry boy...
We thought sometimes to avoid him crawling around too much, we can just put him in the bumbo seat... but that is not true. He can climb out of it easily. So I am planning to sell it.
Here's one time he fell asleep very early... and even after we put him on the mattress in our room change him into pyjamas he continued sleeping despite of the noises around him. Not the red t-shirt still around the back of his head? :)
Joshua likes to say, this is a mummy's boy. :) I am like Yes and No.
Yes please be manja with mummy because that's my privilege as a mama. :) Waking up a handful of times each night should pay of right.
But when I'm tired and in need of rest, he doesn't allow me to. He will come and want to be carried. Once carried, he will be stretching to be released. It's a dilemma.
I could only distract him with certain task for a while before he wants me to carry again. And very often, Joshua say he was completely fine on his own, just before I appear. -_-
Once I enter the scene, his face will change. He will be crying out to me. It's nice when I'm looking forward to cuddle him, not nice when I want to sit down, rest and probably allow my body to accumulate some fats especially near my cheek bones?
Family photo comes as a luxury these days... and early this month I specially made Joshua ask Ken to help us snap a picture outside Vintage Cafe.
Still, I count myself blessed. :)
