Tomorrow, will be my 2nd time doing a wedding message translation. >.<
Mixed feelings. Happy. Scared. Excited. Anxious.
I sms-ed Pastor Alex on Wednesday, the day I found out the speaker will be him. He said he can give me the script by Friday.
It is Friday now, I email-ed again.. trying hard not to sound so pushy... until now... no reply yet. What should I do?
Translation is so different from singing a song, performance a dance, playing piano.. you can practice 1000 times until you're so confident about it and just do your thing on stage. The most is dealing with stage fright. Translation............. especially in Acts Church where our speakers only complete their message when they stand on stage. No formal script prepared before hand.... how to prepare? *凄惨没人知*
I have served in Mandarin Translation for.. almost 2 years? Ah i lost count. :P But it is a long period of time.. I should've built more confidence over time, but no woh.. the more I translate the lesser confidence I have. Maybe because I had this mentality that I should be very good at it now, after the experiences, but I feel that I am still a budak mentah. :(
I am very worried that I will let the lovely couple down. Like for Amanda & Jason's wedding, my very 1st translation at a wedding, oh dear.. it went well until the prayer part, I never expected that !! I went mute when Pastor Sandra used the phrase "Holy Matrimony", she had to repeat the word twice and the crowd laughed a bit. -_- After that I cannot forget that it is 圣洁的结合.
经一事,长一智
Holy Spirit, please make this wedding translation go well...? Not for my glory, but for your glory, use the 5 loaves and 2 fish I have here to bless the couple on their big day and be a vessel to plant seeds in the hearts of their relatives who haven't known you yet. Amen. :)
还是有压抑不住的紧张....:P
