It's chinese tradition that the married people will give ang pows (red packets) containing money to the singles during this festive season. And this year, is my last year to qualify to receive ang pows. :D I never really get many ang pows during chinese new year, because we don't do a lot of visitations, and I never thought this is something I will miss once I am married. Not until.......
It was Chinese New Year Eve on 2nd February 2011, I was in my mum's office, attempting to complete keying in their accounting records, preparing the necessary for the auditor to come in after CNY. I needed more space, so I set up my work station in the extra room outside, near the back exit, some distance away from mum and brother's room, and the walls totally covered me, so I was unnoticeable.
While I was concentrating in the accounts, Anne walked in and excitedly told me that one of the clients (CNK) came and gave her and my brother ang pow !! :D She checked the ang pow in front of me and we saw that it is quite a big dollar note!! I also want!!!! My sister and brother got it, how about me?? Anne said because they didn't see me, and the client is still in my brother's room, so I may still have chance. Keke..

So....... I casually made my way into my brother's room, smiling shyly at the clients as I barely know them, and walked to the back of the room, purposely took some fruits to eat... :P Then I realised they didn't show signs of giving me ang pow.... I was disappointed and was going out of the room with heavy footsteps... then my brother suddenly introduced me to them. "This is my another sister, she's working in KL, so she seldom come back here during weekedays." I said "hi" to them again.. waited for few seconds, no signs of ang pow still. >.< I left the room with my heartbroken. Ouch!!

I was angry like a little girl when I got back to my small room outside, Anne was laughing at me, because she knew it from my facial expression that my mission has failed. My mum was also there, I was complaining to her too. She asked me not to be so greedy. But but but... this is my last year getting ang pows.... :( :( I was chatting with Shin Yee on gtalk, so I told her of the whole incident, I said "God so bad... if I get the ang pow, I could put all the money into the offering bag u know..." then Shin Yee say "Oh no you should not say God is bad, the fact is God is good, even when the situation is bad." I was like "ok ok, sorry, God is good all the time!" And then.............. I heard the client walking towards my room!! They were leaving, so they came to say goodbye to my mum, and HE WAS HOLDING AN ANG POW IN HIS HAND, he said to me "Eh, happy chinese new year, sorry just now forgot to give you."

Thank you Jesus !! :D He heard me! Hahahaha... I checked the ang pow, the money was folded inside, and the dollar note is quite an old one, it's obvious he did it just now under the table.. he didn't prepare an extra ang pow. Hehehehe...
And of course, this note is going into the offering bag this sunday. :D
God is good all the time! It's funny how God can use this small scenario to teach me this simple fact. Too often we place judgement too soon that He is not good because we're in a bad situation, but no no no... God is always good... He's waiting to bless us, just waiting for us to be shaped in order to receive the blessing and know that it is indeed from God, because HE IS GOOD ! :D Amen !!!
