Mini Milestones : Jasper's 19th month

This month, Jasper starts to wear his own shoes. There was one time he wore wrong side, just like Jasmine did. And usually he still need our help to wear, either standing or sitting down. Often I just place him on my lap as I squat, so that it's faster.

We got to put him on Joshua's motorbike and he's in love with it.

And one Friday after work I took them to the playground on my own, while waiting for Joshua to come join us after his work.
He plays like a big kid.
When Joshua came, he put Jasper on the bike for short ride.... Jasper was so happy he couldn't stay still for a decent picture.
Relunctant to get off the bike, we had to force him into his car seat.
Then we went to Foh Foh for dinner. He loves to drink our ordered drinks and didn't want our hands to be on the cup to help hold it.

For a short while he knew how to take the bib from behind the high chair himself, and pass to us to wear for him, when he's ready to eat.

Ah Ma bought them a tent, we had it set up in the living room.
Jasper was excited about it, went into it and didn't occur to him that the floor is still concrete underneath, he banged his head on the floor and cried. I told him do not bang your head on it, it is very hard. He knock again on the exact same spot. End up with blue black spot on his little forehead.
So I tried to cushiong up the space to prevent further injuries to him. -_-
Ah Ma also bought a ball pit for them. At first they enjoy sitting inside but after a while they grew bored and stopped playing. So we kept the tent, decided to only set up for special occassions like Jasper mini birthday party in December. :)

At night, he still needs to latch on to fall asleep. I wonder when he will earn to sleep on his own.
He bites and pulls my pants string when request for nen nen before bed.
Monrings. Often, if he gets up earlier than Jasmine in the morning, he tries to call Jeje to wake up.

He is eating very well this month, much faster than Jasmine, sometimes bigger portion too.
Most times, if he sees Jasmine eat something, he would want some too. Including moo moo cow from cup with straw. Strongly dislike us holding the cup for him, he pushes away our hands.
But I will insist on helping because I don't want spills! He spilled all over his t-shirt, what a waste.
He will want to drink the box moo moo cow that jeje drinks in the morning, so we started giving him but teacher said he refused to finish his breakfast at Little Legends. So I stopped giving him a box, give him a bit from the cup instead.

He loves to read, this is so comforting. I love it when he is busy bringing books to us to read, but only during bedtime. His favourite this month was the Daniel in Lion Den and Moses the baby books. He will hold the daniel in lion den's book and make lion roaring sounds.

On 4th June, he even says "en en!" when we finish reading the book (he meant the end), or when he wanted to change the book.

In the living room, we tried to cultivate reading habit but we are mostly busy cleaning up or prepping meals or doing housechores, so Jasper end up follow Jasmine around playing random toys.

3rd June, he said "no no no" to us with fingers swinging. Thank God this didn't continue because don't tell me terrible 2 starts so early? Haha. But is really really really cute. :)

He's starting to talk! He has tried saying "thank you" but it's very vague at first, but after days and weeks, it's getting more and more obvious like "teh tiu" or sometimes when we said "Jasper say thank you?" he said "wo ka" (welcome). He calls Ah Yi "ah ah" or "ah eh". He says shoes & car very accurately.
Here he is pointing out the birds in the sky.

One evening, I was showing him birds at the front yard, when the birds all fly away, he said "No more" Took me by surprise! :)
His other vocabs : api (open), ba ba (bao bao), yah (star), a sai (the other side), nana (banana), awah (I want), mm mm kah (moo moo cow), shh shh holding on to his kukubird, bi kah (biscuit)

He plays with his tongue, moving it left right left right and I also find him grinding teeth. I reminded him not to grind teeth so thank God he stop doing it after some time.

Little Legends. He loves the routine there. Most mornings he will wave goodbye to me and walk to the bathroom to get his hands washed.
Everytime I come to pick up, he rushes out to wear his shoes (speaking shoes shoes shoes while taking it off the shelf and pass to me) and then rush over to this little window to hide inside and refuse to come out.

6th June, he came back from LL with a teeth mark on his face, bitten by Elijah Keng.

10th & 11th June, he coughs and vomits like Jasmine but much lesser quantity and frequency.

We had a Homes at Vintage Cafe and Jasper was playing like this on the floor.
He basically jumps about a lot after that in the mall while we were making our way out, after that we find them coughing a lot...

Bath time at home, I try to give them bath tub, to encourage Jasper to like the idea of dipping in a pool. He is already using the exact same body shampoo as jeje. We finished all the sebamed body shampoo.
After bath Joshua wraps him up with towel  like this and he walks out same like jeje to get changed.

Blow hair for jeje he always come to get blown too although he doesn't really need.

Summit after brunch, always drawn to these rides but we never put money. They are able to imagine lots of things sitting in it.

Weekend, we did a little impromptu water play at backyard.
Simple stuffs like : water dipper, plastic container, scoops and some water from the hose - kept them occupied for at least 30 minutes.

I wanted them to learn how to ride on the scooter but they shifted their focus to play water instead And got all their clothes dirty and wet.

This is another day where I tried to spend more time on the swing with them. Sing song, point at birds etc. But he doesn't sit long there, he will want to come down and walk out.

Still puts things into his mouth! Especially the small colourful toy cake toppings.

We went back to Muar to meet baby Jolene.

In Aunty Yap's house, he remembered there was a dog, he asked for wow wow, but sadly the dog had just passed away.

In 7-27 house, he too know there is neighbour dogs, but sadly the dog been kept in cage so he couldn't mingle with it.
Played ball with daddy outside. He runs after the ball to catch it. Really loves ball.
Observe jiu jiu get ready to go out.
Lots of fun playing at the living room.
Even dared to climb up the sofa like this to read for things on the counter!
And pretend to drive car when we were waiting for Ah Ma to buy stuffs from the market.

Let him try sitting in Jeje's car seat.
Bath time with the towel again.

At night, sitting with Ah Ma in the VIP seat. :)

After nap, he woke up with a really cool hair style!

He didn't eat well in Muar, I am very frustrated. He kept on spitting out the food even after I flicked him continuously.

He likes to eat green grapes, it's a bit sour but he likes it. He had 5 in a row after dinner.

Sitting in camry's middle seat on our way to dinner.
We spent sometime at the Fiffy shop to buy discounted things to kill time before Asam Fish shop opens.

13th June, in LL, he was washing hands in the bathroom when I walked in to pour away Jasmine's puke and then rinse the green cup at the basin. He thought that I will carry him after I'm done, but I didn't so he cried. Later that day, Joshua came to pick Jasmine up to see Dr Koe, he saw jeje left and said "I want mama" and after that he started looking for jeje too.

Boys will be boys. He has started climbing up and down dining chairs and stools on his own. No fear of falling down.

Sunday before camping, we went to Giant to buy food that we are in charged of.
He helped to stack up the maggi mee on the double stroller, like a pro. Look at that grin on his face.

Then go to Ace Hardware to get head lamps and some batteries for our other torch lights. He fell asleep in the store while we were reviewing different options.
That night, we tested out the head lamp and got them both excited for camping!

I also borrowed camping chairs from Salby, tested out at the frontyard straight away.

This is another time I took them to the playground after work (Laureate), because I promised to Jasmine.
Love to see how they take car of each other. I wish Jasper will protect Jasmine when he grows up. :) Now he does more bullying.

I tied hair for jeje at home and he also requested for the same. So I did, gave him a really cute one!

I really love this hair style haha.. but it's not good to keep doing this to boys right?

At times, they will play with curtains especially to see daddy come home. My mission is to clean all the curtains in December, and will do that every year. Must. do. it.

We finally took out thomas the train and bought rechargeable batteries for it. So now they could play with it. It's their super favourite now!
Jasper will hold the remote controller and simply press while both of them run after it, non-stop. They giggle and scream a lot while playing.

Whenever Jasmine is playing with puzzles, he too insist on playing too. So I give him just to feel and play around, hoping he won't simply throw, but sometimes inevitable.

14th June, he sleep laughs at 7am!

17th June, went to see Dr Koe, he weighs 10.6kg.
Both kids coughs and vomits... so we had to seek cure from the specialist. Dr Koe said Jasper needs antiobiotics as his nose are quite full of mucus. They gave him a vaccination jab too.

Must get well before camping!
He seems very tired every night, and sleeps by 9pm, before we could feed him the last dose of antibiotics.
By the way, so so so so easy to feed him medicine now.

There was a swing at Daniel Lee's house when we went for house warming, both kids loved playing with it.

This was when we were at Uniqlo. Funny how we went in a spent very long in there, I bought 2 tops! Joshua got a jacket for RM250! I was in the fitting room for quite long... and Jasper was looking for me, calling "ma ma ma ma"
Until I had to let him come in with me.

Trim hair before camping. Its going to be hot so much make sure his hair is as short as possible.

24th June, went to Sunway Lagoon despite me having very very bad stomachache.
He still dislike the pool but that day Ah Yi carried him into the pool and managed to get him to swim a little bit. But the whole time he seems disturbed. Right after Joshua bathed him and changed him, he became so happy and hoppy.

25th June. we went camping.
Camping Day 1
He drank river water from a toy cup and chewed on a dry leaf by the river.
Fell into river while squatting by the river, playing. He just lose balance and toppled into the river, under Joshua's watch. So Joshua got him. See the wet hair? Yep.

Dinner, he ate a lot of salmon fish.
And we discovered that he loves to eat corns.
We wish he will just sit on this camping chair and not move out, because there are many rocks and we're just few steps away from the river. Up on the other side is a slope to go up to a field where more campers set their tents.

But not long after dinner, he refuse to sit down. He followed the other kids to look for the camp cats and pet it. He's the youngest walking kid at the camp.

The guys built a camp fire. He was almost running into it as well.
He has no sense of danger, had me shouting the whole time in the background.
He loves marshmallows when we opened the pack to roast by the camp fire.
I didn't mind how much he eat as long as it keeps him still for a while!

At night, he wakes up for milk as usual. The tent was too narrow for us all. I hardly had space to stretch plus Jasper was rolling around throughout the night..... It started raining at 1am and the tent was very stuffy. We had to use the usb chargeable fans to keep the kids cool.
Camping Day 2
Brought his toothbrush because everytime he sees Jasmine gets her teeth brush, he puts his finger into his mouth to indicate he wants the same too.
Breakfast, the food he love the most i.e. Weetameal crackers was rejected. I don't know why.

Again, playing by the river under Joshua's watch (while I apply sunblock for Jasmine), he fell into river again. Ken was the one who noticed and notified Joshua. Joshua was back facing him so he got him again. Said Jasper's face was worried when he's in the river. He was shocked and cried.

I went into the river and he wanted to come with me, mostly because he was sleepy.
In the river leaning against me, he almost fell asleep.

Strongly dislike being dipped in the river. So i let him sit upright and high on my knees. It's hard to find a nice rock to balance myself on!

Then Joshua took him out to sleep in the tent with the electrical fan blowing his head.

He woke up for lunch and ate a lot of corns. Instead of pre-cut corns, he prefers to bite straight from it. He ate at least 2.
Holding one corn, while I was changing Jasmine in the tent (Joshua was not around), he tried walking uphill but slide down together with the corn in his hands. The corn covered with mud, he almost put into his mouth, I took it away in time. He cried so loud until Boon Wei managed to find a new corn for him.
He just steps on the stool and jump down repeatedly. It's a very rocky place I didn't like him doing that.
Took his afternoon nap on the air mattress the Kongs toook out for Asher to sleep on. Asher woke up and we put him there. Cooling enough because our USB fan ran out of battery.

There was a small playground at the campsite, he sits next to Joshua on the swing but didn't like it. And insisted on leaving the place while Jasmine still having fun on the swing.
2nd night was very very hot and stuffy as it started to rain at 9pm. It's quite depressing to be trapped in a 3 man tent with all windows zipped, and the tent were leaking a bit from a slightly destroyed structure due to a cat incident in the afternoon. Cut it short, cat resting on top of our tent, Micah wanted to grab it, fell on top of our tent and broke one of its string that holds the frame up.
We sort of regret on deciding to join camping.

Camping Day 3
We were packing up so the kids jump on the air mattress happily in the morning.

He sits on the camping chair but somehow the chair fell backwards and he landed the back of his head on the muddy floor. Cried really loud... after that I tried giving him his favourite food.

It's very weird he rejects his favourite weetameal and banana. The only food that kept him sitting quietly on the chair was apple. Thank God.
This is the huge swing at the playground.

Seriously, note to self : no more camping until Jasper is big enough and can be more obedient. Also, get at least a 6 man tent and bring a floor mat that traps the dry mud!

We went to feed the tortoise at the KK park the same day evening but didn't manage to see many tortoises and fishes.
Strange to see we have so much energy after coming back from a tiring camping trip, still have to unpack and do so much of washing.... This holiday is not a holiday.

Then we went to Lian's house and he seemed to be walking about trying to remember the place.
Lian cooked some noodles, and let him sit on a plastic bin at the dining table to feed himself.
He wanted to drink water from cup like Jasmine but couldn't as the cup was too deep, yet he insist on doing it himself.
I changed him into the spare t-shirt because the old one was stained by the noodles.
At the garden, he managed to turn on the garden tap, Lian quickly stood there to prevent him to turn it on again, he cried to protest.

We went for dinner at Ping Wah, he refused to eat even though we ordered a special saucey dish that he may like. We told him if he doesn't eat his rice then he cannot have the barley. He cried a lot. We didn't give in. It was really tough.

He loves fish biscuits, when we were at Aeon Big on 28th, Joshua bought a pack for him.
He doesn't sit still in the trolley, for a while and he will want to come out to run about and touch all the things on the shelves.

When Jasmine sits down to do workbook, we give Jasper a piece of paper and some colour pencils. To my surprise, he could sit quite long to draw and scribble. He is quite good at it!

Other than the family photos taken by the river at Janda Baik, this is another family photo taken outside of Uniqlo. We really need to get better at taking family photos! Need constant reminder and efforts and discipline!
