What happened in darkness

It was Tuesday when this happened.

I was chatting with my senior Kendrick about study leave and he told me i have the right to ask for an extra 5 days because it is for study leave, not vacation leave etc... I decided to talk to my manager about it. After lunch, she came by but i heard she was not in a good mood to talk about taking leave.. so i drafted an sms, decided to send her at night...

At about 5pm.. there was a blackout in Berjaya office. We can only see things via the light from our laptops and the corridor light.

The fan was blowing directly at me and i was feelings a little fevery. I had 2 panadols and...

"Kendrick, can i turn off this fan?"

Kendrick nodded. I switched it off.

"I think i can go on mc tomorrow. Hehe... Because i just had 2 panadols."

Kendrick gave me a weird smile..

"Kendrick, did u tell Elina (manager) that studying is very important?"

Before i could finish the sentence... Kendrick opened his eyes really big and wide.. He pointed to the other corner of our meeting room.... and my manager was sitting there... staring at me.........

"Elina, you are here. Sorry i thought u were Janice.. she also wears a black blazer.. hehe..."

As usual, everyone in the room are laughing......at me..

"So, do u want to rephrase your sentence?"

"Mm....no.... it will still be the same..."

"You want to ask me something?"

"Ya.. but u want me to ask now?" (Everyone is there!)

"Ya, u can."

"Oh, i wanted to ask for another 4 days of study leave.." (Boldly voicing out my request but secretly given her 20% discount .....)

"Joan, u must understand, i am not going to approve any more leave from now on. How to finish? Are u going somewhere?"

"..............................................No...................i thought i needed more time to study...."

After detailed explanation on how study leave is suppose to be calculated... she said she'll consider.

Kendrick couldn't hold his laughter so he went out to the corridor to laugh.

The lights are back, manager walked out of the room.

Everyone gave me a funny stare.
"How could u?"
"How did u do it?"
"I can't believe u did it."
"Joan, again?"

Manager called me up and i went over to her workstation and...we discussed about my leave...

Finally, i gave her further 50% discount. 2 days of extra study leave approved.

Although i made a fool of myself again, at least i've earned 2 days extra leave........
