Joshua closed the chapter at Deloitte :)

Yesterday was Joshua's last day at Deloitte !

He joined Deloitte in year 2008, I remember clearly, was few months before the financial crisis. We just started courtship for about a year. I can't imagine, he was an insurance & unit trust agent back then !! I always have the perception that agents have unstable income.... and it really was the case for him! He told me the worse he's been was when he didn't even have money to fill petrol, he still drive around meeting people with the arrow almost touching at "E" (empty).... and miraculously the little petrol left survived him on the road withouot breakdown for few days before he finally closed a small case, to give him the cash to buy petrol.

God is good. :) He provided Joshua with an opportunity to work in Deloitte. We came to know about this job opening from Jade, who's our wedding coordinator. :) She was asking Joshua whether he knows anyone who's interested to join their head hunting team. Well Joshua told her.. "No need to ask around, I'm interested." :D Probably I've been encouraging Joshua to look for a full time job in the corporate world.... I can't remember but there were serious discussions about his career path for sure. :) We prayed... and Joshua got in!! Hallelujah!!

Nelly was his first manager. They did head hunting and various recruitment projects. He was in her department for about 2 years.

And Mandy (1st from left) was his 2nd manager. Actually he was transferred to the Communications team when the manager (Shan Mei) was going to resign, so he didn't have any manager for few months before Mandy came.

To sum it up. :) It's time for him to leave Deloitte. He's joining a Digital Marketing company. :)
And we praise God he's leaving in very good terms!
This is his surprise farewell cake from the Communications team on his last day!

See the Chin Up book? :D Joshua gave it to another colleague who's also leaving Deloitte soon after him. :)

We pray that he leave behind a great testimony. :) He's made some good friends. They're all good people.. fun people, people who have yet to come to know Jesus! They're all invited to our wedding... so really hope the friendship continues !! :D

This new job was unplanned. :P At least not by me. I didn't think he should start a new job 2 months before our wedding!! There're so many new things to adjust to and how about annual leave?! Well... God provides. His ways are indeed higher! The new company agreed to release Joshua for 2 weeks, allowing him to take whatever annual leave he would have by then, 3 days wedding leave granted, and then to top it up with unpaid leave.
The wedding leave was only given to confirmed employees, and their probation is 3 months, but the CEO decided to give him the 3 days while he will still be in his probation!! Praise God!!!
