Packed with wedding errands!

It's really bottleneck time now... this is what happened the past 2 weeks.

Sent our invitation cards for printing.. and gotten a confirmation that I can collect on 13th May (Friday).

On 12th May (Thursday), Michelle, our card designer, said that we should make a rubber stamp for the envelopes. I thought of saving money on that but cut long story short, we decided to go for it. I printed out the logo design she edited to black and white, went straight to the shop near my house after work. It was quite drama, the aunty in the shop said the print quality was too light, and that the picture is too big and won't look good as a chop. So I went to the printing shop next door with my laptop, asking them to shrink the picture before printing. Printing shop owner went back next door to discuss with the aunty how small should he shrink it to, they even had a sample envelope to compare, such favour! Finally, he shrunk the logo by half an inch and printed one copy. I paid RM2 for that and confirmed that I can collect the rubber stamp on 18th May (Wednesday).

Got my cards on 13th May (Friday) 11pm. I cut the corners of all 430 cards. Bought the cutter for RM15. I cut the whole night.. 4 corners each card... switched from right hand to left hand.. I wanted to finish it all but I gave up at 2am..

Next day 14th May (Saturday), my mum was up from Muar, we went to KL to meet her tailor. I continued to cut the corners in the car. Finally finished it when we arrived at the destination! Hehe. Afternoon, Joshua received a purple ink pad from our dear friend Kamini. She knew I was going to buy a new ink pad for the rubber stamp, she had an extra so she decided to give it to us. :) Such favour again!! We just need to spend RM5 to buy ink refill as the ink pad has dried out after we stamped on about 300 envelopes..haha..

15th May to 17th May = we went to Acts YWA (young working adults) Getaway at Kampar.

17th May (Tuesday) we got back from getaway in the evening, after dinner, we spent the whole night writing names on the wedding cards.

18th May (Wednesday), I went to collect rubber stamp, aunty said the person in charge went on holiday so it wasn't ready. :( It's ok, we continued writing names on cards to make sure when the rubber stamp comes, most cards will be ready to go into the envelopes.

19th May (Thursday), I updated the google document with the cards that we've written, this document would be used for RSVP. We need RSVP from guests invited to wedding dinner, so we can confirm on the number of tables with the hotel.

20th May (Friday), I aim to start distributing cards during Homes (caregroup) so I tried my best to meet my own deadline. I went to collect rubber stamp during lunch hour. Came home, start to chop on just enough envelopes for cards distribution at night. And we did !!! We managed to give out as many as we can during Homes! Yeay!

21st May (Saturday), whole morning I chopped on as many envelopes as I can. By noon my mum is up again from Muar. I love to have her around! We went for accessories shopping! She bought me a necklace, a bracelet, a pair of earrings and a ring for RM1k from Poh Kong! Woo hoo!! Brought mum for a professional hair cut in KL at 4pm. Back to Subang at 5.45pm. Joshua came to pick me up to Concorde Hotel by 6pm. We had a discussion with the Hotel F&B Manager about our wedding dinner, nailed down some details. And.. 7.30pm, my family and some of our church friends arrived for FOOD TASTING. There were 9 of us in the room.. it was soooo goood.. not just the food, but the fellowship! We talk about food the whole night. We have a chef with us, his name is Jim, and his daughter (our flower girl Regina), and a food lover from Penang (Ken, one of Joshua's groomsmen).

From left to right - Jim, his wife Loh and daughter Regina, myself and Joshua, my mum, Anne and kor kor. Ken was the camera man. :)

After food tasting, it was almost 11pm when we got home, we spent an hour to put in the cards into envelopes and wrote names on all envelopes too. We packed all the cards for our friends in church (only).. :) Ready to distribute!

22nd May (Sunday) we managed to distribute at least one-third or half of the cards!! Hallelujah!! We wanted to strictly PERSONALLY distribute the cards. We believe in handing the card personally to our friend to the best we can. :) There were friends seeing us running about and offering help but we declined. :) We want to try our best first. :D Well of course... Elder Kien Yiak (our marriage counsellor) came up to us and say we really should get people to help.. no point stressing ourselves out... so we're now leaning towards to idea more, hehe. Anyway... there were AWESOME feedback about our invitation cards!!!! :D :D

This is how our card looks like! It's a5 size, post card style! Yeay !!

This is the Chinese version. Only printed specially for my relatives in Muar. :)

Yeay !!! Praise God!! HE is really in the "picture"!! :D
