Mini Milestones : Jasmine's 11th month

11 month old Jasmine is laughing and smiling a lot more!!
She has grown her 5th teeth on the upper gum! Anne says now when she smiles, she looks like sponge bob.

She has also started full force crawling, half standing...

we had to keep a close watch!

Sometimes when I get desperate, I will lock her in this rocker... so that I can go about doing all my stuffs and then come back to release the crying baby.

These days, even sitting in restaurant's baby chair, she would try to climb out.
This month, she is showing so much interest in eating the babybites rice cracker. Because those crackers will expire by 17th September, I've been giving to her as and when she is complaining. She managed to feed herself too. :)

Not to forget, when mummy forgot to strap the baby in car seat. Lesson learnt - must strap her in no matter short or long ride.

Second before I snap this photo, Jasmine was actually sitting up right (she eventually tired out)! It requires so much strength to sit up right when the whole stroller was on such a steep slope. We've got a very determined baby.

Along with that high achievement, she fell down quite a few times too.

On 3rd July, after dinner, I was home with her alone. She was engrossed in playing with her toy bus. Half standing posture. I thought I can take a quick break to brush my teeth. Just as I got out from the bathroom, I saw her got tired from half standing, throw herself on her bum, lost balance and knock the back of her head on the laminated wood floor!!! It was a very loud bang!! Ouch!!!! I felt so so so sorry for her but I also remember Joshua said not to carry her after a fall so to toughen her up. I helped her sit up, she cried with high pitch screams... I tried to comfort her.... she continue to play for a while and eventually fell asleep. I looked at her, prayed for her... and secretly told myself never to let her fall again... I read on google that I should keep her awake for an hour to check for any abnormal changes.. or check her eyes... but she's sleeping! Joshua managed to stop me from waking her up.

Being more adventurous, she not only fell on the back of her head not just once but approx 5 times (in masterbedroom, skyroom, kitchen and living room), she also fell sideways and hit her face against the corner of our ikea chest drawer which left a red mark for 2 days.

On 4th July, morning, when I was getting ready for work, Jasmine was crawling about quietly. I was putting on make up in front of a mirror and as I turn to walk towards my dresser, I ran into her!!! I didn't know she was crawling towards me. I was wondering "where's Jasmine?" and next second my leg knocked her head. There she goes again, loud high pitch screams. Sorry baby!!

On the 5th-6th July weekend, she moved about so so so much that we instantly saw obvious weight loss in her. Face is sharper and legs are smaller. Usually when she put her into the bumbo chair, her legs would be stuck but this time, her legs could come out easily.....

She is very much more vocal. A lot of baby talks.. :) :)
She also started to play with the RBW ball, like a kitten playing with yarn.
We started keeping her toys in a plastic container, and everytime she sees the container filled i.e. I just put things back into order, she would come and overturn the whole thing. -_-

Also starting to get interested with my handbag and joshua's purse, keys and whatever she can find in it.

This... is Anne's bra... and it is from her laundry bin. I'm not sure whether it tasted salty. Hahahahahaha....

She loves anything with buttons, like remote controllers, baby monitors and air con remote controls. She will inspect it and then chew on it.

She has a few parties under the dining table, trying to stand by holding onto the wooden bars.

We switched her out of the peg-perego carrier to this sweet cherry toddler car seat. That day, we were on our way home from Lian's the car seat suddenly fell backwards! Jasmine didn't complain at all... I was the one who freaked out a little.

I stopped at the road side after the Wangsa Baiduri guardhouse to push the front seat as much as possible to the back to support the car seat from dropping further. But half way the car seat slide down further until I had to support it with my left hand while driving slowly with my right hand on the steering wheel. Thank God we arrived home safely without anyone getting hurt. :) :) And Joshua fixed the problem that night itself too. We sent the car for service over the weekend and the front seat was adjusted forward so there wasn't sufficient support to keep the car seat upright. :) Anyway we plan to let Jasmine face front when she reach one year old. That way the front seat can be adjusted freely without affecting the car seat stability. ;)

In preparation for our family trip to San Francisco, we made passport for Jasmine!
First, we took passport & US visa photos at nearby photo shop in SS15. Including Joshua's US Visa photo, cost us about RM50.
Here's a side by side comparison of her photo with my baby photo. Look alike? :D
We tried to get her to smile at the camera but that's just her typical look towards strangers.

Then on Saturday, we went to Plaza Glomac lined up at the passport line.
Our number is 150++, so we had brunch at the mamak next door... and Jasmine had her breakfast too.
Then we waited... and waited....

It was a frustrating and long wait.. you can tell the baby can't lie!

By afternoon, finally we got her passport!! Yeah, the photo was taken on the spot. Apparently don't need to take passport photo separately anymore..  Again her typical look to stranger is captured in the passport phooto. Haha.
I look so much more friendly and cute and pleasant in my baby photo, don't you think? :P :P

8th July, for almost a week, we managed to just pat her to sleep... but after a while she's back to her manja, wanting to be rocked to sleep phase. And waking up 2-4 times a night... please teach me how to train her to sleep through the night... please....

As usual, I feed her lying down here in our bedroom and she eventually will continue her sleep here.

In church, we always try to get her to nap, because everyday at Lian's she will have a nap before lunch time.
Sometimes she would refuse to sleep... and feeding her lunch will be tougher.. because try feeding a sleepy stinky baby! :D

On prayer service Tuesdays, she would be mingling with other kids in the kids corner. After we feed her dinner, she would go around shamelessly touch other people's toys. :D And sometimes she just sit there, looking sleepy.
And we will rock her to sleep. :)

Once during a combined service, she climbed up to the stroller and wanting to chew on the stroller lining. Random things baby were attracted to.

Diaper changing continues to be a challenge. It's either a wrestle or bribery or compromise. When we hold her down as she tried to escape, she will cry. The bribery works 90% of the time, where we let her chew on the buds cream tube. Compromise... is when a naked baby is really determined to escape to pull out some nearby magazines, you let her... and run the risk of her wee-wee-ing during those activity and wet your living room. -_-

11th July,  she woke up with standing hair. It must've been due to the pillow above her head pressing the hair upward all night. :D
Look at the swollen face. :) :)

12th July, she attended her first ever church wedding. :)

Because this dress is so expensive, I dressed her in it for both morning and night wedding.
At wedding dinner, she was playing with a toy and suddenly drooled a lot a lot. Thank God the waitress told me she saw something blue in her mouth!! It was part of the toy! Thank God she didn't try to swallow it.

I wore a tube dress purposely for feeding but she refused to drink all night. -_- Kind of like weaning herself off... but now she drinks at selected time and condition, like before bed / just woke up / hungry in between sleep...

We took her to the Kota Kemuning park for a morning sun bathing session on a public holiday.
This blanket was from 73.... very good one for picnic!
Weather was so good I really can just take a short nap here.
Selfie !!

Introducing her to a lake...
We managed to let her hold and feel grass. :D
And the sun starts showing it's power and Jasmine starts to sweat.
Baby Jerome came to join in the fun, but we had to shift the blanket towards the shady tree area, but less greens.

We took her to a real swimming pool !!! It's on 19th July, at Peng Hoe's & Rose's apartment. Joshua bought those floats from Toysrus for RM10. Didn't buy the one for her neck because it's RM60.

Teaching her how to swim..
But she may take a few more tries to get use to it. Hehehehe...
It wasn't long until she started to bite the float that's on her arms.
She definitely drank some water... praying that those won't be harmful to her little body!
We didn't want to soak her for too long so we took her up and wrapped her warmly in a big towel.
While daddy took a 5 minutes swim.
Look at the wrinkly feet!!
Wet wet baby... waiting to take a fresh bath and change into some dry clothes.

We went to Mothercare at Parade and then to Toysrus Empire. Made a mistake purchase of baby safety gate... We finally returned the gates and then I ordered baby safety gate (Lindam UK brand) from Little Whiz and had it installed at 2am. During installation, the loud noises managed to wake her up once. It was overall a long purchase process, I did a lot of research online and finally found the part we need the most i.e. Y Spindle! This is essential to ensure the gate can be attached to our staircase rail and won't slip off.

Very hard to get the gate in place and lock in! We had some argument about the methods during the installation...
But thank God that didn't break us. :D And we were both really happy with the end product! Can't wait for Jasmine to test its quality!

Yeah she tested, it's doing its job perfectly! :D  Now it's for us adults to get use to it. ;)

She's very stable now to sit on a shopping trolley. :)
Helping to pick out groceries..
And learning to drive. :P

In conjunction with our San Francisco trip planning, I decided to start to train her to wear winter hat!!

First time, she was sleeping and I put this on her. She woke up and didn't know there was a hat.

Once she found out, she kept pulling downward, thinking that's the way to remove it.
Kept on pulling...
And because we were all laughing at her, she laughed too!

And she learnt fast, she realised to remove it, she had to lift it upward.
More training...
Randomly I will put on this hat on her, she kept on removing it but I just kept putting it back until she gave up.

We are very blessed that one of the mothers at Lian's decided to pass to Jasmine some of her kids' winter clothes like this little red hoodie! There's another white hoodie, some tights, long sleeves and a pair of jeans. So so so blessed that we don't have to spend money to buy clothes for her San Francisco trip!

My mum has purchased about 5 outfits for her first birthday. We are also planning simple birthday party! :D

Outfit no. 1

Outfit no. 2

Hari Raya weekend, Jasmine taking a nap on Ah Ma's lap, again.

Went shopping with Ah Ma at Faranheit.
Initially sleep in same room with Jiu Jiu but when she started crying for milk in midnight, I will take her to our bed and she would be claiming each corner hers. Big boss style.

More hat wearing training.

And a small time out at the SS12 lake park with Ah Ma & Jiu Jiu!

She loves to be held by Jiu Jiu. :)
I love this candid shot! :) I wish... secretly wish... that our daddy is here sharing this moment with us, but I know he is too smiling together with us, in Heaven. :)

Joshua's idea to put baby Jasmine in the boot. Strange idea isn't it?

Second half of the Hari Raya break, we took a drive together with Joshua's family, to Bukit Tinggi.
Was suppose to go to the Rabbit Farm for Jasmine to meet some rabbits, but Joshua's parents were impatient about going home already. When Jasmine's older, we'll come again just for the rabbits. ;)
Wind was strong here, but not that cold.

Adventurous baby.
Trying to protect her from the strong wind. :P Good excuse for a little experiment.

She started to swing her hands in the air like choir conductor. She does it so much so it looks like she is waving goodbye sometimes. And when we say "fly kiss" she tried to eat her hand. :D

Here in Colmar Tropicale, she started swinging her hands in the air again.
Still swinging.
And swinging.

When we plan to take family photo, the baby was already snoozing.
She had her afternoon nap here...
inexperienced mummy didn't apply mosquito repelent for her.. and she brought back home some huge mosquito bites.

I finally got down to complete baby proofing the upper landing

She now knows when it is time for bath and would be making her way to the bath tub and trying to get into it herself.

We tried to do more stories reading with her but she's still not showing much interest in books.

But she's showing interest in eating paper. One morning Joshua caught her chewing on paper. He saw some white paper in her mouth but couldn't remove it before she swallowed.... so we believe, whatever goes in... will come out in her poop!

She is my laptop hacker. I'm extremely afraid when she starts punching on my keyboard... because the last time she switched my screen upside down!

Thank God for this little bundle of joy. :) Am enjoying motherhood so so much...

Mostly also because I have full support from Joshua, to the extent I suspect Jasmine prefers daddy over me. :(

And lots of support from my dearest Anne. Jasmine lovesssss her Ah Yi and I'm not exaggerating.
Anne is flying to UK end of August for a 9 months BAR course. Lets pray that this girl will be able to graduate and come back to Malaysia by 2015!

Funniest of this month : Found her sleeping in her cot like this. Beneath her was a little bolster. :D
