How did that 3 weeks came about?
Anne came back from London on 1st December 2015. She has finally graduated after 4 attempts of CLP and 1 attempt of BAR. Everyone is excited and she has started sending job applications before her return. Attended 2 interviews and receiving rejection emails... no news. Thankfully she helped around with my confinement which ended on 9th January 2016. Mummy went back to Muar on 10th January 2016 and so it was just me & Anne with the kids. Ever since Joshua returned to work, Anne has been the driver sending Jasmine to and fro Lian's house. She continued doing so.. until 15th January 2016 5pm, she received a job offer! Which could let her start the following Monday which is 18th January 2016! We all rejoiced!! But.... now how am I going to send Jasmine to & fro Lian's house, so far away in Kota Kemuning, with Jasper under my care? I only go back to work after CNY i.e. 10th February which is still 3 weeks away..... Our first option of course was to send Jasmine to Little Legend in SS19. We like to see her joining a group of kids of her age, so she learn how to make friends and socialise as well. So I spoke to Pastor Sarah... and the answer was no. They are too short handed to accept her! That's very bad news to us. And I was again mad at Lian moving to Kota Kemuning... she was in SS12, it would've been perfect if she haven't move!! Why must she move to KK?! Ok... so Joshua said he doesn't mind sending Jasmine there before work, but I must pick her up.. I think through the whole journey in and out of KK.. I feel really stupid doing that everyday. So I made a decision, that both my kids will stay home with me. For 3 weeks. It was like a mission impossible. I told Joshua I can manage, I just need to shower in the morning before he goes to work, and I need him to cook Jasmine's meals too. He agreed. So the interesting 3 weeks has started.
How did it go?
First week.
Bath both kids. Feed the baby, rock the baby to sleep.
Play with Jasmine. Discipline Jasmine. Put her to nap and try to catch up rest myself.
I tried to soak up the moments when both are behaving well and not having much demands...
But I do find parenting rather confusing. You ask why? Because I try my best to discipline Jasmine so that she can behave well. But moments later I see her imitating me to discipline her bears. Or used ruler to discipline me back. @.@ Should I continue to be stern? Or should I portray patience so that she too learn to be patient?
I remember I messaged my mum asking whether she find it confusing. Her reply was "always". :) That's enlightening. At least I felt it means I'm on the right path....
I guess no one who walked through this journey will have all the answers. We just have to figure our way out... and every kid is different, so there's no one solution for all...
By end of the week I thought I want to be a cool mum. Creating activity for her everyday....
Second week. Supposed to be much better like I got everything under control kind of cool.... but we started toilet training.
This was the day before toilet training.
After Jasmine's nap, we packed up and went to F&N. It was my first time driving the Serena.
Jasmine behaved really well. Had her snack and watched videos on ipad while I settle the festive drinks.
@.@ 27 Jan - she wore 7 panties. Which means I wiped her pee off the floor 6 times.
My mistake of not wearing diaper for her during nap time.
She wet herself and whatever beneath her. I changed her in her sleep.
28 Jan - she wore 10 panties! Kara & Janet came over to play over lunch. And in that 2 hours, she peed at least 3 times on the floor!
Every minute and second I would be staring at her panty, so worry to see another pee! -_-
I told Joshua I was close to start abusing them. In fact, I hit Jasper on his leg once when Jasmine just peed on floor and I cleaned it. Then Jasper cried so I carried him.. but he was still unhappy, and I still yet to put on a new panty for Jasmine. His cries followed by confused look immediately made me regret. I was really losing it. Losing the cool!
And Jasper was not easy to soothe to sleep that day too.
Joshua took me to Summit, for a good meal...
And we went to Giant, to buy chocolate balls as Jasmine's reward for toilet training.
Thank God it worked.
She looks forward to eating the chocolate ball that she never wet the floor anymore.
Third week. Jasmine was well trained but visits the toilet too frequent. That's second problem.... how to train a 2.5 yo to accumulate her pee? Jasper on the other hand has became harder to settle for naps. It's like he is cutting his nap short as he grows.
Our morning routine is already quite fixed and easy by now. After bath Jasper, Jasmine would be playing water in the tub until I dressed Jasper up. Then while Jasper cries for milk, I bathed Jasmine and then we quickly come into masterbedroom.
I ensure I have 3 things at hand before I sit down to feed Jasper. 1. Comb 2. Cream 3. Powder
I combed Jasmine's hair. Apply cream and then powder on her neck and inner arms. All these while Jasper drinking milk. He will then fall asleep and then Jasmine's activitiy carries on till lunch time. After lunch by 1pm, she will be down for her nap.
If Jasper is good to me, he too will nap and wake up same time as Jasmine.
And then we wait for Joshua's return. I tried to teach Jasmine to dance.. but she prefers singing. She will ask me to stop dancing.
The living room is almost always messy... with lots of toys everywhere... but when I get pockets of time, I will clear them up.
My utmost achievement would be to see Jasmine sit down to do colouring.
I even had time to paint the flower pot during one of their nap hour.
TV. What would I do without it? But at the same time. I hate it that I allowed Jasmine to watch so much tv! Sigh. Another confusing issue.
5th February. How do I feel now?
Today is the last day I am home with both kids. It's 2pm now. Jasmine is sleeping but Jasper is sitting in his rocker trying to complete his poop business. I am sitting under the fan, typing this blog post on my lap.. while my right leg is rocking Jasper. On and off I hear him coo... and the loud fart & poop occassionally. I know I have to clear his mess soon and soothe him back to sleep again... and then maybe as he settles to sleep, it's time for Jasmine to get up. -_- And I may never find any window of time to take a nap myself. Honestly, I can't wait for these to be over and I can say I've survived that 3 weeks. But I got a feeling.. that I will miss this 3 weeks.. that I wish I could've appreciate these moments more.. that I wish I had been more patient with them...? Ya I'm quite sure I will get there but right now... nope. :) I am not called to be full time stay home mum... that's obvious. But maybe it's true God sent my babysitter to KK, so that I can have this 3 weeks to enjoy my kids? To learn to be a mother? Or know how to appreciate what I have and never take things for granted?
Whatever it is, I must remember. I am blessed. I am very blessed. I've heard different ones in church and my mummy told me these same words. I am blessed, to have 2 kids. One Jasmine. One Jasper. No defects. Both perfect. Thank you Jesus, despite the challenges of being a parent, I know, above all these, I AM BLESSED. :)

little did we know we decided to take up a new challenge in second week that caused me all the frustrations......
