Baby boy is starting to make quite some noise sitting in the car on the way home from Lian's. But generally he's still a quiet baby. I don't remember when's the last time he slept throughout the journey back home. Not just that, even in the morning to Lian's house, he's usually almost always awake in the morning, when Jasmine can be asleep the whole way. He only falls asleep when we're nearing Lian's house. And everytime the sliding door opens, he will open his eyes. So alert.
He makes a lot of grrrrr sound - a lot of saliva in his mouth. And by end of the month, he blows and plays with his saliva. If left alone, he will later he found with saliva all over his face especially on his chin and the front of his shirt.
And ergo was very useful when we go to the playground too. :)
But the real challenge is really at Homes. When the boy is asleep in the ergo... and Jasmine wants to lie down on my lap.
Woke the poor boy up.
He's not a vomitty baby, but this month he threw up twice on me. On 5th May morning 4am.. and then a huge one on 5th May after homes 10.30pm. I stinked so bad after the huge throw up. It happened right in middle of the living room. I suspect it's because I've been strapping him so tightly on me throughout homes, including helping Jasmine up & down the toilet bowl? Not so sure.. but thank God he was fine. :)
Everyone tells me he's such a sweet baby. He doesn't make much noise and he's very solid and well built. When I put him down in the playpen, he could easily pull down the playpen gym bar.
Most times he would grab the napkins around him to cover his face. He makes a lot of noise while he does that. It's like he's playing on his own. When we carry him on our chest, he can grab our faces or scratch our chest.
14th May, we took him to Dr Liew for jabs. The DTP jab due at 5 months old, Rotavirus & Pneumococcal. He cried even before the jabs. This part of him is relatively unmanly compared to Jasmine.
After that, we went for water baptism service where he sweat a lot even after I dress him in singlet and shorts. And he fell asleep on my chest. :)
17th May, I finally bought a bumbo chair for him! We sent the rocker to Lian's house and have been putting him on the blue blanket / playpen / in the ergo... but I felt he need to be seeing the world... and after much analysis in my head, bumbo chair is the answer.
This cannot be the answer. Haha.
Brand new bumbo is around RM230-RM260. I checked through all carousell listing and couldn't find one that's in acceptable condition that's nearby for us to COD. I then moved my search to Facebook and found a few. And finally I found one that's exactly the colour I want and the seller is staying in the condo next to Empire! It's just so meant to be! Joshua went to pick up that night itself. Seller listed as RM120, in Facebook she discounted to RM110 to me. Then in person she reduced further to RM100 to Joshua. We didn't negotiate! :P Jasper... didn't quite like it for a few days.. to which we believe it's because he was sleepy.
This boy knows how to get angry.
His angry expression is shown through his cries and stares - during midnight feeds. When I'm too tired to sit and feed, I will bring him to our room's mattress. He would be wondering why haven't I feed him yet... I will put him down on the mattress first before I myself lie down. In between that few second, he would start crying angrily. He will always need the pacifier after drinking milk, to continue sleeping. But when my morning alarm rings, he will flip over to see what's happening.
He is getting better and better at flipping. And he knows how to flip back.
That means he can roll. By end of the month, we put him in middle of the blue blanket in living room and will come back seeing him at the corner of it, or completely away from it - under Jasmine's table. During his tummy time, he could also lift himself off ground on his knees. We saw this a few times and felt amazed. Jasmine could hardly flip at 6 months old! This boy, by end of the month, every midnight when he wakes up for milk, I walked in to find his head floating looking for me. He flips and lifts up his head like piece of cake.
He never requires us to rock him to sleep. Probably one of the reasons I felt tired more easily carrying him. He will soothe himself to sleep just with the pacifier and turns himself into comfortable position, mostly on tummy.
Constipation. Yes. We dealt with constipation this month. After the whole weekend of no poop, he pooped on Tuesday 17th May. Then there was no poop at all until weekend. He farted a lot. We were worried and then heard from older people that we can stuff up soap into their bum to stimulate poop. So we used home made soap (given by my colleague) to try.
He interacts much more with Jasmine this month. At first, when I saw him doing the "butterfly hands" I told Jasmine to look. Jasmine will be thrilled. Then Jasmine will always be putting his hands on her mouth.... and on 28th May, on our way back from Lian's Jasmine did some facial expression to him which made him chuckled. Jasmine was very happy too. It's nice to hear them laugh at each other.
This is when we took both of them out on the tandem stroller when we went to Citta Mall.
By end of the month, Jasper is getting use to the bumbo chair.
He would sit quietly in it, just happily eating his fists, looking around, stretching his legs or kicking excitedly.
One fine day, Joshua tested him on Ikea high chair at home and realised he can sit on it already. We thought of getting one more Ikea chair for him... but after some analysis, we decided to move Jasmine to sit on the First Year booster seat on the rotan dining chair. Jasper would take over the Ikea high chair. I'm glad this worked!!
Not all the time we go out, we put him on baby chair. Especially at night when we are out for dinner. I used the ring sling..he needed him power nap and was struggling, stretching his legs etc. That one time I pressed his legs down, locked him tightly and rocked a little... he fell asleep fast. :)
Other times when we are out for meals, he would be well entertained by the stroller fan.
2 purpose - entertainment and keep the baby cool i.e. less fuss so we can eat in peace. :)
I took out the old gown that Jasmine used to wear, for this boy, thinking it may be more comfortable for sleep. But he only worn a few times and I decided it's not suitable for him anymore.. because he kicks so much and attempts to eat his own legs too much....
At Lian's, very rare to see him on rocker when I arrived. He will usually be sleeping. It's nice to see him on rocker and Jasmine singing all around him.
And Kayden is the closest of age to him. I can imagine both of them as partners in crime at Lian's house.
We took Jasmine to swim at Court 10 and Jasper looks on. I remember the first time Jasmine was put in the big container was when she just learnt how to sit. So I am waiting for him to be able to sit to expose him to water, not just in the bath tub. :)
He loves bath time now. :) This is the closest to a swimming pool for him now.
Even when I take him to wash his backside at the sink, he likes it too. Gives me a sweeeeet smile without fail. :)
Only Joshua could master the art of carrying one on each arm.
Jasper, being himself, likes to look away.
And busy body, look left.
Then look right.
Jasper also met Duai Yi Ma and Duai Yi Gong at Swee Lin Jiji's house. He doesn't mind being carried by Duai Yi... but after a while he will look for us. :)
We attended Kayden's first birthday party at Kota Kemuning.
He was not crying here in the picture, he was sucking his lower lip! :D
And here his hand hijacked by Jasmine for a kiss. :)
30th May, when we are watching MKR, Jasmine was playing with Jasper and then she went to Joshua to complain something - that Jasper had pull out 2-3 of Jasmine's hair!! I was so angry!! But I can't scold Jasper. Joshua asked me not to make it such a big deal... but I felt really sorry for Jasmine. We all know hair is a sensitive issue in my house... so yeap.. Jasper... u can pull anything, but you cannot pull anyone's hair, ok?
Jasper has been biting me when I tried to feed him milk this month. It wasn't that painful and frequently at first but he does it more and more often... and bite harder and harder. On 31st May, I had to slap him at least 4 times because it was just too painful, but even then he would still bite me. -_- I remember Jasmine would cry and then won't dare to bite again... Jasper was obviously more tough and persistent.
Here's some of our photos with the handsome boy. :)
We found old photos of both kids in the bunny towel.... do they look alike???
It's extremely tough to keep him still when changing diaper and clothes! He would keep flipping no matter how many times we flip him back. @.@
Despite all these, I really thank God for an easy and indeed gentlemen baby so far. Although I can't imagine how he will be like when he finally starts to crawl.
But lets soak up the current moments and not think too far. :)
Thank God for my Jasmine and Jasper. Quality time spent with both of them are my greatest rewards....
Next month onwards Jasper will be officially entering the next phase... SOLIDs. Gulp... No more plain drinking mama's milk. Thank God I managed to exclusively breastfeed until 6 months old! That's my aim... and if I could surpass 6 months, will be bonus. Yes! Thank you Jesus, again and again.
He makes a lot of grrrrr sound - a lot of saliva in his mouth. And by end of the month, he blows and plays with his saliva. If left alone, he will later he found with saliva all over his face especially on his chin and the front of his shirt.
I notice when Lian make the "tsk tsk" sound to him, he smiles broadly. I tried, no luck. But one night, when I do the "muaks muaks" sound to him, he chuckles!
We realise he almost always need his power nap at night during Jasmine's dinner time. If I leave him alone he cries. So I tried to wear him in the ergo while I walk about settling Jasmine's dinner, he eventually dozes off. :) Best feeling ever. And ergo was very useful when we go to the playground too. :)
But the real challenge is really at Homes. When the boy is asleep in the ergo... and Jasmine wants to lie down on my lap.
Woke the poor boy up.
Then... when Jasmine needed to urine about 3 times and poop 1 time. Having to clean & carry an 11kilo girl up and down the toilet bowl with an 8kilo strap on me?? TOUGH.
Everyone tells me he's such a sweet baby. He doesn't make much noise and he's very solid and well built. When I put him down in the playpen, he could easily pull down the playpen gym bar.

Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase. Even Jasmine love that chair. She could still sit in it.
We removed the straps otherwise it's too tight for Captain.
We took it to Homes and solved my problems when Jasmine needs to use the toilet multiple times!
This boy knows how to get angry.
His angry expression is shown through his cries and stares - during midnight feeds. When I'm too tired to sit and feed, I will bring him to our room's mattress. Out in the stroller? No problem too!
Rare times he fall asleep after I carry him close to my chest. :)
Joshua did it because I couldn't. We did once and the poop straight away came out and stained Joshua's finger. Not a lot though. I sliced somemore soap and kept in freezer. We did another round at 6pm and a little came out. Jasper was crying a lot during the procedure. He didn't like it, so we decided not to do it anymore.
Sunday 22nd May & Monday 23rd May, we fed him Lactul but no poop at all.
Tuesday morning we took him to Dr Liew only to find that the clinic was closed. :( So at night, we took him to Clinic Kecheeriaan, Dr Ai Jun examined him and said from the stethoscope hearing, he doesn't seem to be congested inside, so there's nothing to be worried about. So it's a waiting game. Everyday I asked Lian, any gold? Nope. We patiently waited and then finally on Saturday 28th May, he poooopedd!!!
We were so happy for him, finally!!! This boy went by 7 days without poop. Dr Liew said they can go up to 5 days and this boy here surpassed the 5 days mark. Thank God thereafter, alternate days he will have little bit of poop. Even though is small quantity, is still better than none!He interacts much more with Jasmine this month. At night, if Jasper is not too sleepy yet, we usually let them lie down next to each other. :)
Or I read to both. I tried. :)
Or put Jasmine in Jasper's cot. They behaved like 2 playful kittens.
This was exactly what happened if both are in our bed during midnight or early morning. I had to separate them, usually myself and Jasper will be on the floor mattress.
We also started to do flash cards to both of them as part of their bedtime routine.
He would sit quietly in it, just happily eating his fists, looking around, stretching his legs or kicking excitedly.
Both kids are happy. :)
29th May, when we were at McD, it was our first time putting Jasper on the high chair outside, it was Ikea's anyway, so is a familar chair to him.
Not all the time we go out, we put him on baby chair. Especially at night when we are out for dinner. I used the ring sling..he needed him power nap and was struggling, stretching his legs etc. That one time I pressed his legs down, locked him tightly and rocked a little... he fell asleep fast. :)
Feeding him outside with the nursing shawl is also very common.
Once we took both kids to the Kong's house for durians. I regret not bringing either the ergo or ring sling because holding a kicky baby while eating durian was no joke. :)
Other times when we are out for meals, he would be well entertained by the stroller fan.
2 purpose - entertainment and keep the baby cool i.e. less fuss so we can eat in peace. :)
Successfully tasted his own feet. Yums. He loves it.
And Kayden is the closest of age to him. I can imagine both of them as partners in crime at Lian's house.

Jasper, being himself, likes to look away.
And busy body, look left.

We went to visit my old audit friend Stephanie, her daughter Tara was finally born after trying for almost 5 years. Jasper as usual melted hearts being the quiet gentle baby and not to forget, HANDSOME. :)
See him trying to grab Jasmine's hair?Jasper also met Duai Yi Ma and Duai Yi Gong at Swee Lin Jiji's house. He doesn't mind being carried by Duai Yi... but after a while he will look for us. :)
We attended Kayden's first birthday party at Kota Kemuning.

And here his hand hijacked by Jasmine for a kiss. :)
Took him along when we had an impromptu bubble outing at the USJ12 park! He sat on Jade's lap throughout the no-rain session. Then I carried when we hide at the shelter when it started to drizzle.
We tried to get him to do some standing exercises as and when we have the time. But he doesn't really stand naturally... maybe still early. By end of the month, he stand on one leg even. Haha. It's like this boy was dancing! :)
30th May, when we are watching MKR, Jasmine was playing with Jasper and then she went to Joshua to complain something - that Jasper had pull out 2-3 of Jasmine's hair!! I was so angry!! Purposely took some photos of him wearing only the diaper. Classic eating hands... and after just few moments.
He flipped. -_-It's extremely tough to keep him still when changing diaper and clothes! He would keep flipping no matter how many times we flip him back. @.@
