Mini Milestones : Jasper's 14th month

Back from Taiwan and then we are in Year 2017...
And Jasper's look is rather amusing. See the bruises on his forehead from the fall at Mone Resort's entrance? And he has some rosy cheeks. :)
Is not very visible because this boy is darker.

Maybe clearer here? It's so hard to photograph him, he moves about all the time.

There's a change this year. Jasper will go to Lian's but Jasmine will be at Little Legend. On Jeje's first day, we all went together, and to our amazement, Jasper was so at home in LL when we were helping Jasmine adapt to the new environment.
He just walks around checking out the place.

At Lian's, we were also wondering what will be the change if Jeje is not there with him. Feedback from Lian is that he eats well there and plays with Kayden, alhough they sometimes fight over book or cracker. By the way, she said Jasper lost weight after the Taiwan trip.
He says "mum mum" at Lian's house pointing at the snack cabinet. That's him wanting to eat breakfast, and he never ask for food at home. -_-

Fast forward to mid January, I have been tasked to attend meetings in KL more often than ever! For what used to be monthly, is now weekly and more! When it's KL day, I will be on the road for 4 hours and it's completely insane. So we decided to give 2 months notice to Lian... we will send Jasper to LL starting April. So we are definitely working on registering him (photocopying his birth cert and vaccination schedule) and pay deposits & other fees, after sibling discount is RM2310.

We remember that when Jasmine was young, every morning Joshua had a routine with her before sending to Lian's house, which is to take a bottle of frozen milk and put into the bag. I want that similar routine for Jasper but this month we officially finished the last bottle of my frozen breastmilk. And we do not have breast milk donors like during Jasmine's time, so we started a book a day routine! He gets it on the first day, smart boy! But the problem now is keeping the consistency.

The one book a day routine has made him liking the idea of taking book from shelf and pass to us. Once he keep bringing books to us one by one, he almost empty the whole book case

In the car with me, either on the way to Lian or on the way home he often cries and knows I will pass him the pacifier from the front. Whenever I see him through the mirror, he takes the pacifier and puts immediately into his mouth like drug addict

Shopping at Aeon Big, that day we got 2 strollers and one kid on each shopping cart. I think it's his first time sitting on shopping cart.
And the many facial expressions.

Jasper likes to play with Jasmine's milk bottle after she's done drinking. Sometimes he managed to drip some milk on the living room floor.
By end of the month, when he sees us giving Jasmine her bedtime milk, he knows how to request for it. We started giving him earlier on but we only lasted a week and stopped thinking maybe he doesn't need. He will run to the kitchen and cry and keep looking at where we made Jasmine's milk - so we know he wants his too.

4th Jan, after Joshua bathed him, we realised his eyes were red & swollen & watery. We suspect it's the soap being rubbed into his eyes during bath time. Thank God it's nothing serious.
The way we bath him is different. I put him in the bath tub. Joshua let him stand.
We let Jasmine decide whether she wants to bath together with Jasper. :)  The bath tub is now just nice for the both of them. Jasper loves it to have Jeje bath together. I always take him out first to change while Jasmine continue to play for a while longer. He knows what's going to come after I hang the shower up, he will try to resist by moving his body the opposite direction. It's like grabbing a fish from the water, so slipper and heavy...haha.

He makes sound like "teh teh teh teh tek" randomly. Calls "Dada" but not sure whether he's referring to daddy. He rarely calls "mama" although he can say it, he only really calls "mama" when I scolding him, mostly during meal times. When he sees us sneeze, he tries to imitate. So Joshua is teaching him to say "Ha Cik" and he is definitely trying and been doing quite well. He also managed to call "je je" ! Once we were reading an animal sound book with him and made the pig sound "nhoorrrk!" he tried to imitate and it's just so funny. He laughs at himself too. He can also do lion roar sound pretty well. It can also be tiger or dinosaur.

He is so interactive this month, he even points at bird and swing his arms in the air like how we imitate the birds fly. He also knows how to do "no more" hand gesture.

He still loves the fridge so much, each time he hears or sees us open the fridge, he dashes over.

He's getting more clingy to me. Joshua says I am his kryptonite. Haha.
And we wonder whether it's because of that, he gets up much more frequent during the night. 5th Jan, before 4am he has gotten up 4 times! And at the final time, I found out he pooped and had to clean him up.

8th Jan, he pooped total 5 times that day.

Early Jan, we have the annual ALDO in church. It's a full day event that has some team building sort of games. I was initially carrying Jasper with me, but he was too clingy so Joshua volunteered to take him. He was independent and showing off his cuteness all over.
This is one station and he was playing with the things there happily.

We used the double stroller where he took his afternoon nap at the back.

This year we attend a new homes! Our old homes CN6 has been given the blessing to shut down due to hommies being slightly toxic esp in criticising church leaders... so thankful for this fresh new start!! I selected this homes in SS12 that's held in Janet Ling's house. Yeay! The kids were happy and Jasper suddenly has so many friends to play with
They have a room for kids to play in while Homes happens at the living room. Jasper joins but often he comes out looking for us.

The pink stroller that we bought for Jasmine, we thought it will be so popular with her but it became an idle toy in the living room. Thank God I bought it for only RM30 plus delivery charges. To our surprise, Jasper plays with it one day.. and he was hooked to it for very long.
At first he was trying to figure out how to push it forward.. and how to change direction.. and even how to bring the stroller up to the upper landing.

We took him for vaccines - MMR, chicken pox and last jab of pneumococcal and spent total RM570. Ouch. And he weighs 9.4kg

This month, we were again surprised he found the 2 blue & yellow watering cans and kept going into the drumroom to take out to play. Just throwing on the floor pick up, throw, repeat.

I've surrendered to his frequent get ups during the night, so usually by 1st or 2nd get up, I will put him on the bed next to me
On 16th Jan, he rolled so much on the bed at dont know what time, he fell off but thank God he landed on his limbs. He of course cried and Joshua had to pick him up and put back on bed.

This boy can dance. He does lots and lots of dancing, clapping and moves his body left & right.. and sometimes just loudly saying "jah jah jah jah jah!!"

He continues to challenge the limit of climbing up the stairs. Whenever he's 2 steps up, we will warn and if he doesn't come down, we will beat his legs. Once he just cried and walk away.

A weekday night, we went to Courtyard to buy Kara's birthday present.
And outside the book shop, there're some rides. Jasper now knows how to demand to go in to play.
Sits with Jasmine and being curious about the ride. We didn't put in money.
Joshua felt so tired going after him because he walks very fast and almost as fast as running. Once he almost ran to the escalator.

21 Jan, we discovered he has 9 teeth altogether. The 9th one is just surfacing.
27 Jan, 10th tooth also surfaced

22 Jan, for the first time, we let him wear Jasmine's outdoor shoes at the back, and he helped himself up on the swing and started shaking the swing. Boys will be boys.
It's hard to avoid him just sitting down on the concrete floor and the shoe came off simply because it's over-sized for him. He wasn't bothered by the dirty floor at all. So different from Jasmine.

Sometimes I am carrying Jasmine in living room, he knows how to push jeje away in order to come near me.

That said, the siblings play with each other often. They played at the kitchen baby gate and Jasper laughed so much.
One night, I was busy in the kitchen, Jasmine was with me. I locked the baby gate because Jasper shouldn't come into the kitchen but he was standing at the gate, asking to come in. To our surprise, Joshua came down from upstairs and saw Jasmine playing with Jasper at the baby gate, a little like playing with a dog. She takes a small toy, throw it over the gate to the other side and said "go Jasper go Jasper go go go!" And Jasper will happily go and pick it up and throw it back at her. Repeats.

Feeding him food has become the hardest task. After 2 mouths he can just reject completely. No matter how we beat, force or scold, he still shakes his head when he sees spoon. If we managed to trick him to open mouth and put the food in, he can just stick out his tongue to get rid of the food, creating a mess! No matter how many times we beat him about spitting out the food, he still does it.

This month we attended 2 weddings. I love it when I get to dress Jasper up. Got him to wear the OshKosh overalls again.
And the mothercare clothes we bought for Taiwan.
Lisa seems to like to play with him. And Jasper was happily running about at the dinner hall, including almost rolling on the floor like other older boys.

Attended Kara's birthday party at Aeon Big's Molly's Fantasy. It's a weekday night. Joshua and Jasmine arrived first and Jasper and I came later (from KK).
It didn't take long for him to quickly blend in.

Jacinta is our new hommie, she's so so so sweet. She has 2 kids, Isabel who is 6 and Elijah who is 4. Both are independent and well behaved, so she helped us to play with Jasper.
Jasper in in the below picture. See properly and spot him.
Yes there, next to Kang Wei. He was so freely walking around, even to the extent to photo bomb the Khoos. And I'm so proud I could recognise my boy when Janet mentioned on the whatsapp group that she wonder whose little hands was that, it's so cute. And without a doubt I said "Jasper!!" :)

Another weekday night, we went shopping at Sunway Pyramid.
Went to Sub to buy Joshua's jeans. And Jasper's first time seeing a mannequin. He wasn't sure whether it was real.
We put him in the front seat of the stroller and he was fine too.

In conjunction of CNY, Joshua's tricycletv borrowed a chicken suit for a video. He took the chicken suit home and both kids loved it when he wears the chicken head.

Before we go back Muar for CNY, Shin Wee is back from Singapore! So we went over again, as usual. Jasper seemed to be so at home there.

He wasn't completely well since December.. and this month we realised he started to have blocked nose (sometimes watery) and green mucus. We've seen Dr Liew again but all we get was the same set of medicine - Prelone, Salbutamol and Antamin. I realised Prelone is steroids so we decided not to give, just keep in fridge and hope the occassional Salbumatol &Antamin can help him heal from it.

CNY, we went back Muar at 6am.
This is Jasper's first CNY in Muar.

One night we were at Yap's house and there's a big dog called Jini.
He likes the dog so much he does the "grrr" sound and clap his hands whenever he sees it. He's not scared to touch it.

He explored the whole Muar house freely together with Jasmine.
My mummy bought new mats to put in the kitchen so the kids can play there.

This is Jasper playing in the kitchen with Ah Ma and Ah Yi.

And I opened up the last pack of duplos and this set shall be a permanent set in Muar.

In the living room, sometimes the TV is on with kids song or singing competition program.
And Jasper likes to sit or step on this foot stool to go up to the wooden seat, up and down.
Once he almost fell off! But he didn't hurt himself, he managed to balance himself after falling.

Jasmine wanted him to wear panty outside like superman.

Feeding is tough!!
Cheeky moments in Muar when he finally was released from the high chair during meal times, he runs to the floor mat and lie down and just keep laughing
So in Yap's house he refuse to eat during dinner time, we focus on finishing our food then only I lock him in a chair and tried to feed. I used the party whistle as a distraction, worked only in the beginning. Arghh..
This is bed time. Jasmine has the corner bed (it's actually a sofa) and Jasper will sleep in the playpen.
Towards the end, we also took him out to the back to play. He enjoys just taking the basin and walk around.
Then he discovered the stool.
He loves to stand on it.

Jasmine initiated dance party one evening so Jasper joined too. He didn't really dance but he did stumbled upon some books there.
I think it's good he knows how to get curious over the books.

Basketball session is quite common here. Jasper will wear his socks and shoes and we take him out.
It's natural for him to walk and kick the ball at the same time.

When he sees us go out to the car garage in Muar, he never hesitate to just walk out, even when he's barefoot. After CNY, we bought otak on behalf of church friends. One night, I opened the door to pass otak to Angie at the gate, then I look back to realise Jasper had walked out to the shoes area barefoot with his pink stroller out too!! It's so funny but I was also super mad! Dirty dirty dirty! -_- After I lock him in, he threw the ang pow packet out....

He knows how to pass us things to open for him, mostly toys. Like a box that contains cooking toys, he will come to us with the "uh uh uh", hand the box to us and just keep looking at the box. :) After we open he makes the high pitch excited sound and pour out the whole box.

Jasmine's kitchen toy car, the yellow one my colleague bought, also became Jasper's favourite this month. They took turns to ride on it, under Joshua's supervision.

This must be when we getting the kids really for bed and they started playing with the singing bus.
And here's Monday night after the maids had finish cleaning our house. And the kids started playing with the blue empty bin.
I love their creative ways of playing with the blue bin
This is weekend morning, lazy mornings.
This is lazy weekday nights, trying to change them into their pyjamas...
When we eventually got them bathed & changed & drank milk. It'll be free time for reading / stories. Whenever we were doing story telling / role play during bedtime, he joins in too.

Expert in getting down the bed the right way. :)
Downstairs is another play area where more actions happens. Here he is trying to use the remote controller to switch channel
And playing with the drum set and I helped him play with more style. It's my cap from UQ days, glad it fits him because of the adjustable strap at the back. If only he doesn't pull it off within the minute.
Weekend laundry piles. And the purple box should be after us keeping the christmas tree back into storeroom.
I got this rocker back from Lian's and was planning to take it back to Muar, but Jasper started playing happily with it. He helps himself get up and snuggled in happily. :) So the rocker shall be here longer than planned.
Weekend nap time - Jasper is still reliant on pacifier and playpen. I am starting to consider keeping the playpen even after koko has his baby. Maybe I buy a new one for him to use in Muar.

We dressed up for church on Sundays - or at least tries to.

During service when he's not sleeping, we have to try to entertain him with books or small items from diaper bag but eventually the most effective is taking him out to the back to run free.
We nanaged to attend the SS15 community dinner and got to meet some neighbours. I tried to ergo him but even before dinner starts he already can't stay in there. I had to take him out and let him walk around. Managed to show him birds in the cage.
So that's our January. This boy is 14 months old - so fast!
