Have i ever mentioned.. that during job hunting, when i pray for a job i actually have a list of criterias? My 10 criterias for ideal job. Hehe.. like pay, location, good boss, window view seat etc...
He challenged me.. to strike that allllll off. I did. I was reminded that i am not doing him a favour.. we are all serving Him for one reason.. to fulfill our destiny. So that's the new criteria i put down, to fulfill my destiny.
Can't help but to start wondering.. what was God's thoughts when He was forming me in my mum's womb? And this season, what does He want me to do, where does He want to send me to? Where is my harvestfield if i am His laborer?
I have an interview 2 days after He stirred this in my heart. I was preparing for the interview in the morning. Interview at 4pm. I was worried as usual.. like going to sit for exam. Bad. So i read the bible. I usually dont read bible before interview.. cos i thought do more research better. This time i took a different approach. Read, just read.. and then pray.
Arrived at the building an hour earlier, surprise i could find the place by myself. Actually quite near my old office.. but i give myself some time for mistake turns, or blur driving. Yeah, so an hour early. I sat down at the cafe at ground floor, ordered a coffee. Thought i'd take this time to memorise my prepared answers for the expected questions.. or just pray.. Then i realised the next building is where Daisy works ! Oo.. would be fun to give her a call. Called her, found out her office shifted 6 months ago. =P Haven't catch up with her for so long.. so we talked.. shared.. until 10 mins to 4pm !!!!! I quickly put down the phone. Finished my coffee and dashed to the lift.
When i reached the office, coffee breath, i thought ok i will chew a chewing gum to get rid of that. Chew chew chew while filling in the form.. chew chew chew.. A lady walked in. The Assistant Vice President, hi hi and all.. sat down again. Interview commenced.
When i was answering questions.. i realised that i am not suppose to have a chewing gum during interview !! Oh no !! But how? It's going to be rude to remove the chewing gum now? I tried stuffing the gum in between my teeth but it kept coming out, tried left, right, up, back... oh? know wat, the best way to get rid of it is to swallow it !
*interview went on*
Finally, the interviewer looked down at my resume and certs, i swallowed it !!!! Yeay~~!!! Thank God it wasn't stuck in the middle of my trakea because i managed to ensure that my throat was moist enough to let the gum flow all the way through.. haha.. *victory*
Interview went on to 6.15pm.. was a long one.. When driving home, my mind can't help but to review my own performance.. thoughts of "I could've done it better" kept popping up.. which is really normal.. But i decided that this time I want it to be different. So i forced my mouth to sing praises, whatever melody comes in, i sing it, whatever words comes in, i say it.
Arrived home. Josh and Evelyn was there. Asked me how the interview go. All i remembered was... that... God is good !! And i felt that i have completely handed this unto God's hands, leave it all to Him. Let Him do His thing. I smiled and said yah i swallowed a chewing gum.. but from the interview i learnt a lot. Opened my eyes and mind. Josh said.. i was very different this time. Cos i usually pulled a long face and complained i failed. Haha..
God has changed my heart. He has changed me. God is good. =) I hope this change is long term. Hoho.. gotta remind myself daily to have this unwavering faith.
