Was reading book of Judges... and came to Chapter 6, 7, 8 where i came to know about this warrior of God - Gideon.
I was really amazed at his faith, simple faith. He was a man of God, even when people around him, even his family worshipped the Baal, the foreign God. He was so bold that he even destroy the altars despite the scoldings from the people in his town. Wow..i was really thinking.. will i be bold enough to destroy the buddhism altars in my house, if there is any? But thank God, the altars in my house were no longer around after the house renovation took place in 2006. Yeah !! Praise the Lord !!
Back to Gideon, he led only 300 men with him to fight the Midianites. He initially had 32 thousand men ! But he obeyed when God asked him to send those men home, and left only 300... only 300.. out of 32,000.... wa lao... -_- Such boldness and faith.. i want that kind of faith..
And after he defeated the enemies, the Israelites wanted him to rule over them, he gave all glory to God, he said he won't rule over Israel, but the LORD will rule over the Israel.
Up to this point, i felt, wow.. Gideon, really a mighty warrior of God. And the name sounds so cool.. suddenly i thought if i have a son next time, it will be cool to name him Gideon.. hahaha... sound so manly and the source of the name.. wow.. such a great character in the bible.
..............=P

What.... this Gideon had MANY WIVES and he had 70 sons???!!! So ham sap one this hero !! The name "Gideon" sound no good anymoreeee wey....... Why ah heros cannot be faithful to only 1 wife meh?? >.<
Read somemore.... Chapter 9...
Wahh... Gideon slept with a slave girl, and bore this son, Abimelech. Abimelech was evil, he killed all his 70 brothers in Gideon's house and was crowned king... He later on was killed in a war.. such a sad ending... to Gideon's descendants.
Just a thought, if only Gideon was faithful to only ONE WIFE, his sons will surely turn out better? Maybe not so many sons, but they could be better men, to fight for the Lord, for Israel, in unity. HHHmmm.................
