Look Alike Contest

We've always been discussing, who among us 3, looks the most like daddy and mummy. :)

I remember when I spend after-school time in their office, clients that walked in will never fail to comment that I look like my mum. I hear it so often that I even attempt to stand on a stool just so I could see myself in the mirror at the back of the office, and I was hoping to see my mum's face in the mirror but no, that's me, not mummy, but why they say we look alike?? I was a confused kid. :P

From our discussions over the years, I have my daddy's fair skin, double eye lid eyes and longgg face shape. But overall, I look like mummy? I don't know. One thing for sure, when I put my legs next to my mum's, they're exactly the same, except that mine is a shade lighter, and my mum's has shrunk a bit due to older age. :)

Then my kor kor will always get the comment that he looks like our daddy. But after analysing properly, besides his height, everything else looks like my mum. Skin, eyes, features...

Anne, always calls herself a pick-up from rubbish bin. She has the most special size. :) We thought the gene came from my dad's family line. Anne is pretty much the same as my kor kor, has got mum's skin and eyes.

But with no debates, we all have our grandfather's (mum's side) big nose. -_- For me, an "added" bonus - huge nostrils. Yes, I am selfish, I take up more oxygen. :P

We tried so hard to match our features to our parents to comfort ourselves that we indeed look like them... until we attended our cousin's (dad's sister's son) wedding in Singapore early this year, we realised he looks SO MUCH MORE like our dad. He basically carries a much stronger DNA! The height, tick. The face shape, tick. The curly hair, tick. The thick lips, tick.

My kor kor asked me "what's wrong with us?" I was speechless. I wish I have an answer. I so want to look like them! To me, it will be a great privelege to have their good looks. ;) But I know I shouldn't complain, I am God's design. :D

God has blessed us with very different looks, features and also characters. He made us all unique and special. :) He loves us all as much. I choose to think that, my daddy, my mummy, my kor kor, myself and Anne are SIBLINGS in Christ. ;) That makes much more sense, doesn't it? We don't live in the shadows of our parents, but we ALL live in the shadows of Christ, imitating Christ, looking more like Him each day. :) *In God's timing, my whole household WILL be saved.* ;)
