bye bye aunty clothes!

Workforce in ACG is considered average 35 - 40 years old. 99% ladies and they don't dress up for work. No one to impress? I dont know. :P Even my old boss, she wears stretchy blouse and short skirt to work. She's on the curvy side and has quite a full backside, so her skirt is often much shorter at the back. Imagine the front is already 2 inches above her knee, the view from the back especially when the skirt is flare... is not a pleasant sight at all!! When she has important meetings to attend, she will wear heavy perfume, and striking pink or chili red lips with loud thick colour eye shadow. I call this abusive use of colour cosmetics! -_-

My mummy reminded me when I first joined ACG, "Although they don't dress up, you shouldn't dress down, you should still dress in the most respectable manner." :) I took her advice but I did segmentalised my wardrobe a little....

I made sure I stop buying work clothes entirely. I gathered all my work clothes and made sure I fully utilise them, especially those that were a little out of fashion and old. Fashion changes like lightning, so whatever was trendy back in year 2006, today is called aunty. :P Moreover, I lose some weight, so wearing slightly loose clothes made me look even more aunty. Hahahaha... but I'm still the most professional looking employee here ok... For shoes as well, I wore the few that I have or my mum's black flats and wedges. I even save on wearing pressed powder to work, I only applied baby powder on my face, and light blusher, that's all. :P

Anyway... this season has ended!

These are the ones I have been wanting to get rid off so they're now going to recycling bin. :)

The black dress and beige knitted top were purchased in Brisbane in year 2005! Haha. And the white and black buttoned up blouses were purchased during my 1st job.. around year 2007. The black skirt and grey top belonged to my mum. The grey top if you see closer the colour has faded.. the edge of the fabric seemed a little orange-y... :P

After much consideration, I have decided to get rid of this jacket too! Have been wanting to let it go for some years but it is a comfortable jacket although ugly looking. :P Anyway, it's finally going!

Yeay!! I don't know why I'm so excited about dressing up for work, I guess I just miss it too much! :D This current company has much younger workforce.

My current boss is in her mid 30s while my old boss was approaching 50! :P People here dress more formal to work, I'm glad I wore buttoned up long sleeves on my first day. :) 2nd day was turtle neck maroon top, and 3rd day a black dress, phew! I think work clothes shopping has to commence soon! :D
