13th to 19th August.
Monday, we were both busy at work. However, we're plannig on shifting some things from USJ house to 71 by Wednesday.. because the Chiam parents are coming on Thursday and this weekend the sister is shifting in to the USJ house.......... @.@
Tuesday, after prayer service, while I was still working in office. Joshua started packing up his things in the small room here. It was Joshua's study room, then video equipment room, then drum storage room too. One word, junk.
Wednesday, after work and dinner, we did final packing in the small room. I made sure we clear up the place except for a table with his computer things on top. Finally, we moved the bags, loaded them into both our cars. FULL.
I was very exhausted from a long stressful day of work, but was still excited that we finally started the moving process! :D
It's hard to tell but we put in as many things as we could in the car, random stuffs included. :P
There's a bedside lamp on the passengers seat somemore. Haha.
These were in Joshua's car.
The whole drum set was in his car. :)
We unloaded things from Forte first, Joshua will leave the things on the blue canvas, and I will bring the item one by one into the small back room. The only area that will not not get dusty in the coming weeks.
Joshua said he never thought the first thing we will move in here, will be his drum set. :) His first ever drum set. One that God has blessed him with.
Random things.
Thursday, I was not feeling well! :( And so challenged at work.. so so so challenged. Many projects and short deadlines.. and at the same time my boss is challenging me to multitask. -_- She suggested to have another colleauge assist me and then she changed her mind, so that I can become better than what I think I am. -_-
Friday morning, our wooden front door arrived. :) Joshua was there. They took 2 hours to complete the installation.
The door came in dark brown although I will much more preferred some yellowy brown. Arranged and paid by our cousin. RM700. We thought this was such a great deal but when we finally saw it together with our contractor Ah Hoong the next day, he pointed out that the wood is very thin, and that it was not fully aligned with the door frame.. :( I dislike imperfections, especially on items we see and use everyday.... but there's nothing we can do... :(
Saturday, granite came at 10.30am!! Ah Hoong's workers also came at 10am to start fixing the water pump. :D I was there to open the gate & door to the workers.
2 indian workers were here to instal granite, they measure and measure..

They had to trim the cement hole to have the sink fit properly into it. While cutting, look at the amount of cement dust flying around @.@ Joshua only managed to come during this process. He had to play drums for a friend's wedding in Klang. -_-
They also try to cover all the gaps. It looks so messy and clumsy we were worried whether they know what they were doing.....
They put the stick to hold the sink up, to be exactly under the granite stone.
Then the kitchen looks like this!! :D We love it so! They left behind 1 and half pack of cement, as their boss is coming to pick them up with CRV so he doesn't want to bring the cement back. The boss came to inspect, took a photo and left. He is a young and tall indian man wearing gold on neck, arm wrist and maybe fingers.. haha so much gold... granite must be really good business!
While the granite installation was on going, water pump was installed next to the tangki, but they worked on it for hours and finally decided to continue on Tuesday because the water didn't seem to go through the pump. Basically, we still don't get water in the house. :(
We moved the dining table top over to sandpaper and paint. I don't dare to paint the whole table, so just 1 part of it. :) to match the legs that was painted last week.
I was very exhausted.. so I try to sit while I work. :)
We also found this papers from 1990 wrapping something in the storeroom!

Also there were some old chairs, poofs and a lazy susan... all of us took some and then managed to bring all to 71 before my aunties go home. :)
No news from the wardrobe people at all. We'll see what happens when the woman comes back from UK. May God bring justice!! :D

After much cutting and preparation done to the cement top, they asked for one more men's help to carry the stone in. Ah Hoong volunteered to help, it was so funny, he spoke malay to the 2 indian workers, not knowing they only understand english.. hahaha.. The guy in beige is Ranjee, and he comes from Sri Lanka. He's been there doing granite for 10 years and was only here in Malaysia for 2 months. The guy in red comes from Nepal and has been here for 2 years already. :)
This is what they lay between concrete & granite, cement... they look like flour ready for making roti canai.. or yao char kwai. Hahahahaha..
Then mix them together.
They also covered the bottom part with lots of cement. :)
And trim a hole for our hob, which they also took measurements many many times before cutting the stone.
They also cleaned up the walls, wiped clean and shine the granite top.

We managed to finish painting it that day and moved it indoor to dry. :)
Sunday, after church I came back straight to 73, to help my mum and aunties clear things up.
They packed few big bags of bed clothes to be thrown away and I just went through all of them and decided to inherit some! Look at how my mum and aunties tie up the black bags, hahaha. :D We found a carpet that we can use for the drum room! :D
