Ever since Anne came back from US, I have not been staying up to call grandma to chat. :( Feeling guilty..
So we called her on Saturday night 1am. It was 9am in US. We took turns to speak to her, including Joshua. :) Miss her so much, we talked about food she used to cook... about her being matched made to our grandpa. They never met each other until their wedding day. :) She was only 16 when she married him. :D Then we also talked about her experiences taking care of 8 kids at home + full time housewife. Grandma said they used to buy milk powder in boxes (24 tins in a box) She can't recall what brand it was, but it was the best during that time, the packaging were red in colour. You might think 24 tins is a lot, but that could only last them for about a week !! Imagine how often she feed her kids and babies.. :D

This was taken in 1999. :)
Grandma said grandpa passed away very long time ago.. but she can't remember when. I told her it was 10 years ago, not very long.... but coming to think of it.. it's been really a long time...
Of course, we asked her whether she remember that we told her about Jesus. She said yes, but she couldn't recall what we spoke about. :) So I reminded her again, that Jesus is preparing a place for us in Heaven, and that when our time is up here, he will come and bring us to Heaven. :) We already repeated this many times to her.. and really hope she can remember it.
Before we put down the phone, we prayed with her, having her followed sentence by sentence. She did really well... until the part where we prayed "I know Jesus you will come" and grandma continued it on her own "and bring me to Heaven" !! :D Grandma remembers!!! And we thought she doesn't. :) The way she said it, was full of joy and full of confidence...
We skyped with her last night. Grandma said we could sing a song for her. So we sang a hokkien praise song "Yah so jin jia ho (Jesus is very good)". Joshua was the lead, both Anne and I are not at all familiar with this song. Grandma only smile as we sang.. I hope she registered every word we sang. :)
Jin jia ho, lai xing yah so jin jia ho
Jin jia ho, lai xing yah so jin jia ho
Bai yi, bai ji, bai sa, bai si, bai gor, bai lak, gui ge le bai
Jin jia ho, lai xing yah so jin jia ho
We practised singing this song again just now... and I'm aiming to have grandma sing along with us the next time we skype !! We're going to praise Jesus together! :D

JI CHIA HO~~!!
Spoke to grandma on Sunday morning over the phone, I asked her "do you remember we sang for you?" She said no. I asked "Do you know what jin jia ho means?" She went ahead singing "jin jia ho.. jin jia ho..." She remembers the melody & some of the lyrics.. :) Hallelujah!
