We set our wedding date 1 and half year ago. The opposition party then took our date as their rally date, a march to KL asking for a clean election. If it didn't happen on my wedding day, I would've joined in the march. :)
Anyway.. it was of course scary to read of the long list of road blocks on my wedding day. Our wedding was held at Luther Centre in PJ and wedding dinner at Concorde Hotel in Shah Alam. Both not in KL but the roadblocks definitely has restricted our friends to attend.

Few days before 9th July, our PM announced that the rally can be held in a stadium, they offered Shah Alam Stadium!! We were terrified!! But praise God, really a faithful God, the opposition party decided to have the rally in KL Stadium even though they were not given the permit! This decision definitely has favoured us A LOT!

On wedding day, I budget 2 hours of travelling time (just in case of any road blocks). Make up artist came at 5.45am. Photographers came at 6.30am. Videographer came at 7.30am. We left home at 8.30am, half an hour later than planned. We were informed that a few highways were blocked, except for NPE, so we took NPE, it was clear! I arrived at 9am!
Joshua's side was not as smooth sailing, his photographer was stuck in a massive jam because of roadblocks on Kesas highway (coming from Klang). He only arrived at 8am plus, and they arrived later than me, which was supposed to be the other way round. Haha. Anyway praise God that we both arrived on time! :)

Next, I was worried that our important relatives won't be able to make it on time. There were a few road blocks in the morning at different highways. We decided to start the ceremony once all our relatives arrived. True enough, my aunty (the last one) arrived at 10.15am. We were only a little behind time, praise God again!

When I was at the waiting room, I kept hearing people say that the hall was only half filled. I was worried that the hall will not be filled with friends & relatives.. I really want a merry wedding. We invited 450 people to wedding ceremony, and expecting 350 people. The chapel has 250 special brown chairs and if our guests exceed 250 they'll have to use the black chairs from another hall. Taking into account the rally, I prayed to God.. at least fill the brown chairs please. True enough, as I walked into the hall.... I saw that the hall was filled. It was not packed but I don't see any empty rows of seats. :) My God was faithful again!

If you know me, you'll know I can easily TEAR whenever I think about my dad, and my mum. A crying bride was the last I want to be. I told God, that I don't want to cry when I walk down the aisle, simply because I don't want to ruin my make up. :P Although my aisle was short.. I know I could easily break down.. mum was beside me, she was also one of the main stars of the day, I know we both have to be strong. :)
Anne walked in before us, the Maid of Honor.

As we walk near the door, mum reminded me "walk slower, remember to smile", I said "sure, lets do this, we have enough practice, we're going to nail it, lets show it to them!"

We walked in as the chorus of Edwin Mccain's I Couldn't Ask For More was played.

Joshua said he was admiring me until he almost forgot to come forward to take my hand! :P Anyway.... my mum gave me a hug.. and then gave Joshua a hug (during rehearsal they only shook hands... -_- both said shy, I said actual day must hug so they did),

then mum passed my hand to Joshua and whispered into my ear "must be happy ok". As I'm typing, I'm tearing now! PRAISE GOD I did not tear at all then! :D Hallelujah!

When we face each other to say wedding vows during rehearsal, my mum said I was too loud and too manly in my tone. Like I was giving a motivational speech. -_- Well, that's me! Mum said no... have to be more feminine, more gentle.. "I give you this ring..." not "I give you this ring!". Our rehearsal was on Thursday night, I practised so muchhh on Friday! On that day, praise God again I was able to say the vows in my most feminine tone. :P I teared a little and so voice a bit shaky at the end of the vows... then Joshua broke into tears, his face was all red, Pastor Kenneth had to stop. Some people thought he broke into laughter, but I saw tears in his eyes. :) He said it's not a macho thing for a guy to tear, hahahaha!

Tessie and Anne did a beautiful song performance! Tessie is from Indonesia, and had some problem with her visa. She nearly could not come to our wedding because she had to go back to Indonesia until her working visa was approved. Anyway, I don't know the details but she managed to extend her visa, so she could sing together with Anne! Anne was the main singer, many said her voice was sweet and lovely. :)

When pastors and elders surrounded us to pray before the recession, our family were asked to come forward to lay hands on us too. My mum was also in front, I saw her at the corner of my right eye as I bow my head. I was thankful that she believes in prayers! She stood there while Elder Shirley was praying for us and others laid hands on us. Suddenly, half way through prayers, she placed her palm on my lower arm.... I teared.. "God, please save my mum, she's such a wonderful lady, such a wonderful mum, she has such a beautiful heart.." My tears dropped on my hand...and mum took a tissue and wiped it off. It's a beautiful picture I will never forget. I know she's so many steps closer to knowing our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!
