This week is another crucial week, in fact should be the most crucial one. Because Joshua is changing job starting 4th June. His new office will be further in Bangsar and working hours will be more strict. That means he can't go to 71 and check on the renovation progress and talk to contractors in morning before going off to work. So we really tried to get more things done this week, lets see how it goes. :)
We paid RM15k to Ah Hoong again. Total RM30k paid to him and from his expression on face, he need more soon. Also electrician Ah Loong has asked for 30% deposit of his RM8k quote. Our cousin thinks RM8k is too expensive and was going to negotiate with him. We will wait until he gives us the green light to pay. ;) We also have to pay about 40% deposit to alarm guy for the wiring works in the house. Well, pest control NLC have not contacted us to make payment and we're keeping quiet. Don't get me wrong, we're not trying to escape but if we can delay the RM3k outflows as much as we can, we don't mind. When we have the extra funds, we will definitely call them up to pay. :)

Monday was the day Ah Hoong said we need to get the gate and fence up as soon as possible for security purposes. Without the gate, even during the day they get curious people entering the house trying to sell stuffs or just being busy body. Our floor tiles are coming in so there will be more valuables lying around. I contacted cousin, sent him pictures of gate & fence that we like etc. He has asked Joshua to get Ah Hoong to provide measurement. Our cousin is going to order the gate & fence from his work supplier, using the material used for highway dividers. My cousin owns a building cooling system comapny and they use a lot of such materials. According to him, that material does not need any upkeeping. Yeay! During lunch time, I went to Maybank to process the RM15k bankers cheque for Hoong Hor Construction Works. Window was supposed to arrive on Wednesday but they can't meet the deadline, so pushed to Saturday. Ah Hoong already removed the last window, but they nailed wood to cover up the window holes to prevent people entering.
This is the back cement flooring, the colour changed! Interesting.. I believe the colour will continue to get lighter and lighter.
Cousin asked us to find out how the phone line was connected to our house and we found out it's just like this! This is because it's an old house. Newer house will have a proper terminal box.. size of 8 inches by 8 inches.
We were told about a little problem with this beam at the extension area. We wanted to hack the beam as high as possible so the sunlight from the window can enter the house.. but lets look closer.. there're some phone wires right above the grill door! And the line runs paralle across the row of houses here... if we request for telekom to change it to higher.. might cost few thousand ringgit. We thought we just forget about it.. leave the beam as it is...
Wednesday, they prepared a frame of the size of the garden I want. :) What do you think? Is the size ok? Is the location ok? I sent this picture to my mum, who loves gardening. she is worried that the water from roof might hit this area and kill the plants. Hmmm.. we have to discuss with contractor further on this.
And our tiles are finally here. :)
And there goes without saying, they started laying tiles for our bathroom. Ahhh.. I really pray that the tiles we picked will look nice after it's all completed! :) We opted for a plain white bathroom with grey floor tiles. I hope it won't look too plain.. :) If it does.. any idea how to bring in some colours? :)

Now I understand why they had to drill such big holes. They keep the wired in the pipe which made it safer and more durable. ;)

Wednesday night we went to Houz Depot after work hoping to buy a wooden door lock.. but the selections were so limited and the one we like is out of stock. I'm slowly getting impatient with Houz Depot, they hit the out of stock error way too often. Anyway we're not sure what kind of lock is suitable.. so decided to wait for cousin to advise.
Thursday, our door frame arrived. RM280 nyatoh ply. After ordering from this carpenter, I called up cousin's carpenter and found out not only they can give me better wood for the door, they also charge cheaper.. we're meeting them on Saturday and if we like the new carpenter, we shall bid goodbye to the old one.. feeling sorry for them but they're really not that great.
Friday morning rained.. so Ah Hoong and his workers did not work. Joshua tried calling our window guy since Thursday to confirm whether they can send the windows by Saturday morning.. guess what.. went straight into voice mail! And the same for Friday whole day. Our cousin finally got hold of the window guy's son at 7pm.. they said windows will only be ready on Monday. Well, we still made appointment with the son on Saturday morning, gotta discuss about kitchen glass wall and shower cubible. ;)
Saturday, supposed to meet window guy at 10am, but he was late. Only arrived at 11.30am. We discussed about which window panel swing left or right, about the glass wall in kitchen and also kitchen cabinets design. We also asked for advice about our shower cubicle in masterbath, turns out no matter how much space we have squeezed for the shower place, it's still impossible to build a shower cubicle.. we can only put a glass separator and the other side could be just a simple shower curtain. Our contractor Ah Hoong discussed about this shower cubicle as if this is his house. It's really funny to see that, and I know that our contractor is good. Thank you Jesus. :) I should mention this, when I introduced the window guy to Ah Hoong, he scolded him bad words in a very funny way. He told the window guy he made his work miserable. Hahaha.... Anyway everything ended at 1pm. We had lunch and I drove back to Muar on my own. Joshua had appointment with our potential new carpenter at 2.30pm and I had another mission in Muar. ;) I have arranged through the help of my relative (son of my dad's younger cousin brother - Ah Yan) a lorry to deliver old furnitures from Muar to SS15! Total RM530.

Look, the note I left on the ping pong table in 2009 is still there. :D It was on 5th floor which we tried to vacate so I labelled on all the furnitures - to throw or not to throw. I was back in KL when Uncle Ah Kow came to help with the shifting. :)
Hehe, funny scene right, see that green bin? My mum has two and asked me to take one. it's brand new and I have no idea what to use it for yet. I just don't think such a deep rubbish bin is suitable for household use.
Lorry finally came. :) Black shirt - Uncle Ah Kow, red shirt - Ah Yan. :) That's a very huge lorry, for the little stuffs we have, haha.
After we loaded everything into the lorry, we went home. There were sofa, old basin and curtain rails. I totally forgot to snap pictures at home, was busy coordinating..
Sunday, lorry arrived at 11am plus, Joshua met lorry driver up, led him to our house, unloaded everything and that's all. :) Now all our furnitures are in 73. Anne is not very happy with the current arrangement but we have no choice, it's just temporary, come on..... :P
