Last night 9th August 2011, exactly 1 month after our wedding. I get to amend the testimony again, made it shorter and more precise. I enjoy doing that kind of editing! :D Joshua was the one who wrote the whole testimony and I did the editing. I changed sentence structure so that it contains lesser words. I deleted extra sentences that were repetitive, added in details that Joshua left out. :D
We were told by the Program Coordinator 5 minutes before our turn to keep it to just 2 minutes because there were a lot of prayer points and many meetings after prayer service. We deleted a paragraph and decided to do a quick read of our testimony! If you know me, you know I don't have much problem reading fast.. although I can be much faster when I read Mandarin (almost without comma and fulltstop if I want to) haha..
So it was like bullet train with the people at prayer service laughing at us.. laughing at some of the details in our testimony and some plainly laughing at our reading speed. Pastor Kenneth say he'll call this the Train Testimony. Haha!

We would like to share a testimony of how God performed miracles and came through for us on our wedding day on 9th July, which is exactly 1 month ago.
Our wedding was ‘special’ because more than the normal wedding stress, there’s also an additional ‘political’ stress that we had to endure.
For those of you who don’t know, Bersih rally happened on the day we got married.
Due to the political unrest, our guests started calling in on Friday, the day before our wedding day to say that they won’t be able to come. More than just worrying about the dropping numbers, we were also worried that we ourselves will be stuck on the road on the wedding day. It’s not comforting to see the newspaper headlines the day before our wedding stating which roads will be blocked. Some even suggested the rally to be held at Shah Alam stadium which is very near our wedding dinner venue. We almost looked into the option of obtaining a police permit just in case we get flagged down by the police.
All glory to God. He made a way when there seems to be no way. On our wedding day, although it was raining in KL, it was dry in PJ area. And miraculously some roads leading to the chapel where our ceremony were held were clear. Both of us and our relatives managed to arrive at the chapel on time. I know some had to go through the jam caused by road blocks, but majority of our guests still made it. We praise God that there weren’t any empty rows seen in the chapel!!
We also want to thank God for favour from the hotel banquet manager. On Friday, the day before our wedding, we requested to cancel 1 table at our dinner because of the last minute drop outs but was rejected as cancellation in such short notice is not allowed. However, when we arrived at the hotel on Saturday afternoon, the manager greeted us with good news. He said he managed to obtain green light from their accounts department for our table cancellation. Glory to God again!

Another thing we want to praise and thank God for, is Family Reconciliation. Since the passing of my dad almost 11 years ago, my family have drifted apart from my dad’s siblings and their extended families. My dad is the eldest brother among his siblings and his passing away was very sudden. Some of his siblings had misunderstandings that were not resolved when he left. Many of them were also not in good terms among themselves. When we invited all 9 of them (my aunties & uncles) to our wedding, I did not expect them to turn up, but by God’s grace and miraculous intervention, ALL of them turned up in full force. They drove all the way from Muar, Kluang and JB on Saturday morning using GPS. Some took train from JB and Singapore. 2 of my aunties have leg problems but that didn’t stop them from coming. It has been more than 10 years since we got together, and I thank God that when we managed to gather for a simple tea ceremony, there were nothing but joy and laughter. We ran out of tea twice during the tea ceremony, but none of them were unhappy, 1 uncle even joked that his cup of tea tasted like plain water. Truly God has used our wedding to bring reconciliations in the family, and we believe that this is just the beginning!

Through our wedding, a relative who’s a secret Christian in the family was able to come to church with the entire family for the 1st time. A friend who’s non believer came and said that she was touched. Even Joan’s mum, a pre-believer placed her hand on her during prayers at our wedding ceremony. God has broken down strongholds, and what was perceived as couldn’t be done, God has shown that in Him nothing is impossible.
