The resignation episode

I prepared these letters in my laptop on Sunday night... on my way to office, I stopped by a groceries shop to buy white envelopes.

Arrived in office, printed those resignation letters out, read it through to make sure no grammar mistakes etc and put them into the respective envelopes.

I waited for the right time to see my boss, but she had a discussion with our COO in her room. Then at 10am, she went down to 1st floor for a budget presentation meeting.

I waited........ waited..........

Until 7.15pm!! The meeting was finally over.

I never thought resigning can be so scary... I have butterflies in my stomach! I prayed while I get ready the last bit of my report to send to her.... then grabbed one of the white envelope... and walked towards her room. I prayed "Holy Spirit you go before me!" then I walked into her room. :)

"Mary, I've sent you those reports, it's in your mailbox... Also, this is my resignation letter." I smiled and put the envelope on her table.
She was shocked.. "haaaaa............ this is just the beginning for you!" (1 year 8 months you call it beginning, no thanks, I call it the end)
I said "I feel that it's time for a change, I am not doing accounting anymore."
"ohh... you don't like accounting?"
"nopee... I've been trying to get out of doing accounting. This is a good opportunity."
"I thought I have big plans for you, I wanted to groom you, you see.." (You always have plans, but plans were never executed in the past 1 year 8 months.)
bla bla bla bla bla................
She ended by saying she see people come and go, so if I'm going for a better offer, she will give me her blessings. :) She took it really well! Praise God!!

She opened the letter... read and pointed out that my letter should be effective 14th Nov 2011, not 13 Dec 2011. Oops. Then......... she said "just amend on this letter, no need to reprint, and you need to sign."


WHATTTTT??????!!!!! I waited for almost 9 hours and I don't even remember to sign on the resignation letter?????????

Thank God I prayed before I handed the letter to my boss!! It's sooooooooooo embarassing............... Joan Ng Jin Jin....... how can you forget to sign.......
